Happy 4th of July! I’d like to thank our Servicemen and Women who sacrifice so much so that we can enjoy our freedom. I am a Native New Yorker – born and raised! My Grandparents and my Dad came here from Italy so the Statue of Liberty has great meaning for me – and, I know, millions of others too! I remember visiting with my Grandmother and she was always so grateful for the opportunities this country provided. When I see Lady Liberty, she means many things – most of all HOME!
For the background on the tag, I put Barn Door Distress Stain onto a Craft Sheet, spritzed it with water and then dragged the tag horizontally across it and then heat set it. Next, I put Picket Fence Distress Stain onto the Craft Sheet and repeated the process. I used Faded Jeans Distress Stain for the top of the tag. I swiped Picket Fence Distress Stain directly onto the tag in “stripes.”
Next, I inked the tag with Barn Door and Faded Jeans Distress Inks.
I flicked water onto the tag and then heat set it. The edge of the tag was inked with Black Soot Distress Ink.
While the Distress Stains were out, I used them to dye Crinkle Ribbon for the top of the tag. The TH Statue of Liberty Stamp was stamped directly onto the back (smooth) side of Watercolor Paper. I used a wide brush and Bundled Sage Distress Ink to color the stamp. The edges are inked with Black Soot Distress Inks.
Idea-Ology embellishments were used to finish off the tag. The Word Band was attached with Jute String.
