The first Card Swap I ever participated in was an Artist Trading Card Swap. It was 17 years ago and I didn’t even know what an ATC was. LOL! A lot has changed in all those years and my style has shifted many times. I do all kinds of projects now but Vintage is my favorite. I adored my Grandmother and each time I create something that looks old, it makes me think of her and that makes me happy. I’d love to know what styles you prefer! You can take the Poll HERE.
These ATCs were made for the Mixed Media Mojo Challenge.
When I create backgrounds, I always make extra and put them aside for another project. When I finally use them, they’re like little treasures that I’ve found! Archival Ink/Alcohol Backgrounds are fabulous! Every one looks different. You can see a few examples HERE, HERE and HERE. This was a half sheet of Specialty Stamping Paper left over from THIS project.
- Ink the Filmstrip Stamp from TH’s Creative Collages Stamp Set in Black Archival Ink and stamp onto the edge of the Archival Ink/Alcohol Background Paper. Cut to 2-3/8″ x 3-3/8″.
- Ink edges with Black Soot Distress Ink and a Mini Blending Tool.
- Attach a strip of Filmstrip over the stamped image using a Mini Stapler.
- Attach an Idea-ology Mini Corner and Pen Nib using Glue Dots.
- Attach an Idea-ology Clock Face with Glue Dots and insert two Game Spinners and secure with a Brad.
- Attach to a 2-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ piece of SU! Basic Black Cardstock.
For the second ATC Card, I used another ATC Stamp from TH’s Creative Collage Stamp Set.
- Put various neutral colors of Distress Stains onto a Craft Sheet. I think these were Scattered Straw, Old Paper, Vintage Photo (of course!) and Gathered Twigs. Spritz Manila Cardstock with water and smush into the Inks and heat set.
- Stamp the ARTIST ATC Stamp over the dried background with SU! Early Espresso Ink and emboss with Clear Embossing Powder and a Heat Tool.
- Trim to 2-3/8″ x 3-3/8″ and distress edges with a Distress Tool. Ink edges with Black Soot Distress Ink and a Mini Blending Tool.
- Dye Crinkle Ribbon (See tutorial photos HERE), pull through Idea-ology Buckle and attach to ATC with Glue Dots.
- Attach Idea-ology Mini Gears with Glue Dots and Mini Brads.
- Attach an Idea-ology Mini Corner.
- Adhere the ATC to a piece of Early Espresso Cardstock and then to a piece of Basic Black Cardstock. (Each layer is 1/16″ larger than the previous layer.)
