Sending cards for no special reason is definitely my favorite but Birthday Cards require you to go the extra mile.  After all, they’re going to be propped up right next to all those other cards, right?  I like to add lots of layers and definitely a little pop of bling to make sure the Birthday person knows how much I care.  SU!’s Birthday Bash Specialty Designer Series Paper has a little bit of gold embedded in the paper which makes it easier to create an eye-catching card.  Different patterns from that pack were used to create this Chalk Talk Gold Birthday Card.

• The base card is SU!’s Bermuda Bay Card Stock cut 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored and folded at 5 1/2″.
• A 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ piece of Birthday Bash Specialty Designer Series Paper was layered onto a 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ piece of Gold Foil Sheet.
• A 2 1/2″ x 3 5/8″ piece of Birthday Bash Specialty Designer Series Paper was layered onto the Bermuda Bay striped background paper.
• A strip of Bermuda Bay Card Stock was cut with the Adorning Accent Edgelit Die to create the scalloped piece which was adhered to the front of the card.
• A 1/8″ Gold Ribbon was adhered across the scalloped piece and secured with Glue Dots.

• A 2″ x 3 3/4″ piece of Birthday Bash Specialty Designer Series Paper was adhered to a 2 1/8″ x 3 7/8″ piece of Bermuda Bay Cardstock.
• That piece was then layered onto a 3 1/8″ x 4 1/8″ piece of Gold Foil Sheet.
• A strip of Bermuda Bay Sequin Trim was adhered across that Gold Foil Sheet and secured with Glue Dots.  The entire piece was then adhered to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
• “Happy Big Day” from the Chalk Talk Stamp Set was stamped in Black Archival Ink onto Whisper White Card Stock and cut out using the coordinating Chalk Talk Framelit Dies.
• A piece of Bermuda Bay Card Stock was cut out using Chalk Talk Framelit Dies.  It was then embossed using the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder.
• The Birthday Greeting was adhered to the Bermuda Bay cut out and was adhered to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals to add dimension.
• A 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Whisper White Card Stock was adhered to the inside of the card.

**You can easily adjust the dimensions of the paper to more “traditional” measurements.  I like the sliver of a background that is created by a 1/8″ border which is why you’ll find lots of “odd” measurements in my tutorials.  Click HERE to Join My Mailing List.
