Happy Monday! I have to say…I am LOVING the fall! The leaves are just beginning to change and the weather is downright glorious! It makes it difficult to stay in my Craft Room and make cards! Yesterday, I had the luxury of playing with my Stamps for most of the day! I've been working hard to film, edit, and upload the beautiful projects for the Holiday 2013 Edition of Project Parade at StampAcademy! (Like, until 3 am LOL) I am awed by the talent of the designers! So, this morning, I was having a little trouble finding my Mojo! When that happens, I always fall back to Designer Series Paper. It does all of the work FOR you! This paper happens to be my favorite from this year's Stampin' Up! catalog. I think it's so elegant! Another thing I do when I have a creative block, is that I start with things I love – like Ribbon Medallions. They're so easy to do and are a great focal point for any card. Lastly, I find my trusty Embossing Folders. There is truly nothing like them! They can make your card look like you worked all day! The only down side to using things I love is that my card tends to look like lots of my other cards but I love sending them out right away so that's rarely a problem!
So, the base card is Basic Black Cardstock cut in half and then scored in half. The next layer is Modern Medley Designer Series Paper. The strip is Basic Black Cardstock with a layer of Very Vanilla Cardstock that was passed through the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine using the Beautifully Baroque Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (another favorite!). The Ribbon Medallion was created using Very Vanilla Seam Binding and a Jumbo Sticky Round. (If you need to see how the Ribbon Medallion was done, you can find a tutorial HERE.) The center is an Antique Brad.
The leaves were cut using the Little Leaves Sizzlits and Basic Black Cardstock. The greeting is from the Express Yourself Hostess Stamp Set. I used a Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker to omit the word "Always" and just stamped "Thinking of You." I then used the bottom of the Decorative Label Punch to cut out the greeting and then embellished it using Pearl Basic Jewels. I finished off the entire card by spraying Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz both inside and out.
By request, I am showing you the inside of my card 😉 I cut a piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock and put a half inch strip of matching Designer Series Paper down the side. All supplies are Stampin' Up! and can be found in my ONLINE STORE.
