Happy New Year!! I love new beginnings and I hope this one brings all of you everything you deserve in 2014. I am starting new websites and classes and lots of Paper Crafting Goodness so stay tuned for some exciting announcements! I couldn't think of a better way to begin the year than with "My Boyfriend, Tim's" January Tag. I never like mine as much as I love his but here it is anyway. I am embracing my imperfection! LOL!
I followed Tim's directions and used Pumice Stone Ink to create the base of the tag. I sponged Pumice Stone through the Stencil to create the shadow. The numbers are rub ons that were distressed with a sanding tool. Sadly, I didn't have the die for the pocket watch but I did have the embossing folder so I improvised and cut it out to create the faux pocket watch.
I embossed the Silver Foil Paper and then cut it out. Black Soot Paint was rubbed into the crevices and then gently "polished" with a cloth and heat set. It was then sanded a little.
The sprocket gears (OMG! LOVE them!) were attached to the card using brads. The words were banner cut with scissors and the ends were distressed with Black Soot Distress Ink and a Blending Tool. They were adhered to the tag using a Tiny Attacher. (That's Paper Crafting Lingo for a tiny stapler. LOL).
The trimmings ribbon was embellished with a Vintage Safety Pin and an Idealogy Charm I created using rub ons. The BLOG CANDY WINNERS will be announced later today. Leave me a comment for a chance to WIN one of the goodie bags! Hey…are you part of my StampsAndScrapbooks Family? Get on my mailing list HERE.
The bottom of the tag was finished off using a piece of vellum with the quote pre-printed which I layered over a sticker and then ticket punched the corners and attached it to the tag with my fancy stapler. The edges of the tag were distressed using Black Soot Ink and a Blending Tool. Enjoy & Happy 2014!
So cool! Love the pocket watch improvisation!!
This is an amazing tag – I have not been part of TH tag creations but I might give it a try – I am assuming I can do whatever comes to mind? HMMM – it would be interesting to challenge myself – have a lovely day – Happy New Year!

Beautiful tag and great sentiment. TFS.
I like you idea for the watch! I have the embossing folder and was thinking about embossing the whole card! I just hope I find time this month!
