For me, cards are an opportunity to send a little love through the mail. Somehow I think it’s never more important to do that than with a Sympathy Card when someone has lost a loved one. I had this flower stamped onto a piece of Watercolor Card Stock left-over from another project. I didn’t use it because I “caught the edge” – meaning I got a black mark where the edge of the rubber of the stamp is. This usually happens when you either push down too hard or rock the stamp block. If you hold the edge of the stamp, you’re less likely to have that mistake happen. In this instance, I just colored it in, cut it out, and adhered it to the card.
- Cut a piece of Real Red Card Stock to 4-1/4″ x 11″ – Score and fold at 5-1/2″.
- Stamp the background from You’ve Got This Stamp Set onto a 3-3/4″ x 5″ piece of Very Vanilla Card Stock using Crumb Cake Ink.
- Stamp the flower from You’ve Got This Stamp Set onto a piece of Watercolor Card Stock using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.
- Color in using a Real Red, Cherry Cobbler, Crushed Curry and Garden Green Stampin’ Write Markers. Cut out and adhere to the Very Vanilla piece using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Cut a piece of Basic Black Card Stock to 4″ x 5-1/4″. Adhere a 1-1/4″ piece of Gold Patterned Paper to the left edge. Adhere a piece of Black & White Patterned Paper from the Everyday Chic Designer Series Paper Pack to the center of that strip.
- Wrap a piece of 1/8″ Gold Metallic Ribbon around the card front and secure behind with Glue Dots. Tie a bow using the Ribbon and attach it to the card front with Glue Dots.
- Adhere the post card to the card front using Tear & Tape Adhesive.
- Stamp a sentiment onto a scrap of Very Vanilla Card Stock and banner cut the edge. Mask the sentiment and stamp the background over the top of the scrap using Crumb Cake Ink. Adhere to the card front using Tear & Tape Adhesive.
- Use a Wink of Stella Glitter Pen to “paint” the flower.
- Embellish the card front with a Pearl Basic Jewel.
