Another January Tag…I know…I have a million things to do and I should not, I repeat not be playing in my Stamp Room! But, you know how I get when it comes to "My Boyfriend, Tim!" I just can't help myself! So, here is Take Two on the January Tag. *****UPDATE….THIS TAG ONE AT TIM'S TAGS OF 2014 – JANUARY 2014!!!!! Wooo hooo!!!!! I'm so honored! You can see the announcement HERE.***** You can see the first tag I entered HERE.
I started with a Manila Tag. I put Pumice Stone Distress Ink on the Craft Sheet and spritzed it with water. The tag on the left was spritzed with water-the one on the right was not. Both tags were dragged through the ink and heat set.
I placed the Clockworks Stencil over the tag and applied Pumice Stone Distress Ink through it. I then used a Remnants Rub ("Imagination Destination") down the side of the tag and then sanded it to distress it.
The clock face is from Idea-ology Timepieces. I dabbed Black Soot Distress Paint over all of the metals and rubbed with my finger and then heat set them. The gear and spinner are attached with a brad.
I ran a distress tool around the entire tag and applied Pumice Stone Distress Ink using a Blending Tool. The "Life Is Good" stamp was stamped in Pumice Stone Ink also. Notice the Reinforcer of the tag. It's from a little booklet with all different designs. I just love that you can peel and stick a little personality on your tag! The gears were attached using a tiny screw-top brad.
A piece of film strip was attached to the left side of the tag using a Tiny Attacher. The "gears" stamp is stamped in Black Soot Distress Ink that was rubbed onto the stamp to create the distressed look.
I learned the Tarnished Silver Technique in Tim's Class so I decided to give it a whirl here. The 2014 Numbers from AlphaParts-Signmaker were pounced on the Distress Embossing Ink pad and then embossed with Stampin' Up!'s Sterling Silver Embossing Powder.
They were pounced on the ink pad again and Ultra Thick Embossing Powder was sprinkled lightly over the top and heat set.
The UTE leaves a "pitted" surface for the Black Distress Paint to settle into. Just dab it on and rub it with your finger for the Tarnished Silver look.
The numbers were then adhered over the stamped image.
The top of the tag was embellished with the Reinforcer, the tarnished gears and the pin with the Idea-ology charm on it. The clock was a peel and stick with the bubble adhered over it. The words were from ChitChat Stickers. They were banner cut and then distressed with Black Soot Distress Ink and a Blending Tool. They're attached with the Tiny Attacher Stapler. The pin is secured through the Linen Ribbon.
I love how the metal adds dimension to the tag!
