I am becoming obsessed with Grunge Cards – Shabby Chic, Vintage, Dirty – Whatever! I find myself staying up later and later just to play with all the goodies in my Stamp Room! Now this one is gonna be either a "Love it or Hate it" kinda card for you guys. Personally, I LOVE it! It reminds me of things I found in my Grandmother's house! I wanted it to look like you found it in a trunk in the attic. Is that what you think when you see it??? (Just wondering if I'm totally crazy! hehe!) The Post Card Stamp has been calling my name. (Yes! From INSIDE the closet!) I resisted buying it for a long time – okay so maybe not a loooong time, but since the new catalog came out in May. I wasn't exactly sure what I was going to do with it – but this was what I had in mind. The background is my favorite part of this card! I'll try to post some pictures of how it was done here tomorrow.
The lock and key were die cut using Brushed Gold Cardstock. I then sanded the surface of it using a Stampin' Sanding Block and then sprayed them with a mix of Alcohol and Chocolate Chip Reinker – (You can totally make your own!) All of the edges of the layers were distressed using the Stampin' Distress Tool and then they were sponged with Chocolate Chip Ink.
The Post Card was stamped using the Post Card Stamp in Early Espresso Ink. I wanted it to appear as if there was writing on the Post Card so I stamped the Script Stamp from the Background Builders Stamp Set in Baked Brown Sugar Ink on the left side of the Post Card and in Early Espresso Ink (as if it were the address) on the right side of the Post Card. The "God Bless You" is from the Trust God Stamp Set and was stamped using Early Espresso Ink and then it was embossed using Clear Embossing Powder and a Heat Tool. The Postage Stamp – I KNOW!!!! How cool is THAT?! – is from an old sheet of stamps that I bought about TEN years ago and threw in the drawer. You see? You DO need to save everything 'cause some day you'll need it!
Don't forget to finish off the inside of the card. I used Very Vanilla Cardstock and ran my Stampin' Distress Tool along the edge and then sponged it with Chocolate Chip Ink. Then, I stamped it using the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set and Chocolate Chip Ink. The Supply List is below. You can shop in my ONLINE STORE. 🙂
For the Vintage Postcard Background, I used White Distress Paint and Chocolate Chip Reinker and then sprayed Baked Brown Sugar/Alcohol. Try it! You'll like it! 😀
