DIY Packaging Tea and Cookie Box

Core’dinations Thank You Card

Happy Cyber Monday! I know I'm a little crazy but I LOVE Mondays! Everyone goes back to what they're doing and I have the house all to myself to work all day. One of the benefits of doing a job you love is…well…that you love it! I don't think of this as work because Paper Crafting is my hobby AND my job and I can't think of anything I'd rather be doing on a Monday! It's also my most productive day so I always feel better at the end of the day. As someone who doesn't love shopping, I DO like online shopping so Cyber Monday is my favorite shopping day of the year! My Cyber Monday Special is HERE and it's good until midnight tonight. Trust me, you NEED DIY Gift Packaging Ideas For All Occasions and there's no better time to buy it than with today's discount so check it out! On to my card. I haven't done a Vintage Card or a Shabby Chic card in soooo long! Did you miss them??? I am going to do a survey some day to see how many of you like Vintage Cards and how many of you like Clean and Simple Cards! 🙂 This one is down and dirty – just how I like my cards to be.

The base card is Crumb Cake Cardstock 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded in the center. The next layer is a hair smaller and is Very Vanilla Cardstock. The edges were distressed using the Distressing Tool and then sponged with Crumb Cake Ink. The Primrose Petals Core'dinations Cardstock is 5 1/4" x 4" and was embossed using the Fancy Fan Embossing Folder and the Big Shot. The surface was sanded and then the edges were distressed using the Distress Tool. It was crumpled up and flattened out and then sponged with Crumb Cake Ink. It was adhered to the Very Vanilla Cardstock. The next layer is a piece of 3 1/4" x 4" piece of Crumb Cake Cardstock that was distressed and sponged in the same way. A piece of newsprint DSP was cut a smidge smaller and then distressed and crumpled up and then sponged with Crumb Cake Ink and adhered to the Crumb Cake Cardstock. A strip of Crumb Cake Cardstock was embossed using the Beautifully Baroque Embossing Folder and then layered onto the newsprint DSP. That whole piece was adhered to the Core'dinations layer using Sticky Strip. A Victoria Crochet Ribbon was run across the front of the card and secured behind the Very Vanilla card using Glue Dots. A Victoria Crochet Ribbon bow was attached using Glue Dots.

The greeting is from the From My Heart Stamp Set. It was stamped in Primrose Petals Ink (don't you LOVE how everything coordinates!) and then embossed with Clear Embossing Powder and a Heat Tool. It was hand cut using Paper Snips. The edges were sponged with Crumb Cake Ink and then it was attached to the front of the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Dynamic Dove Holiday Card

Happy Cyber Monday! As someone who does NOT enjoy shopping in stores, I LOVE Cyber Monday! DIY Gift Packaging For All Occasions is on sale for Cyber Monday! Check it out HERE. Today's Challenge was to create a non-traditional Holiday Card without using the colors red or green. I immediately thought of Navy and White. I love that color combo. I think it's so classy. As a Paper Crafter, I usually have a recipient in mind when I create a card so it's easier because I can think about what that person likes and incorporate those elements into my Card Making. My friend, Christina, loves doves. I think of her whenever I see this stamp set. The base card is Whisper White cardtock 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" scored and folded in half. I took a 2" X 2" square of Silver Glimmer Paper and cut it in half diagonally. I adhered those triangles to the corners of my card. I ran a piece of Night of Navy cardstock 4" x 5 1/4" through the Big Shot using the Pretty Print Embossing Folder. I made a double bow with a piece of Whisper White Organza Ribbon and wrapped it around the front of the card, adhering it to the back using Glue Dots.

The dove is from the Calm Christmas Stamp Set. I inked it in Whisper White Craft Ink and stamped it onto Whisper White Cardstock and then embossed it using Irridescent Ice Embossing Powder and a Heat Tool. I cut it out using Paper Snips and adhered it to the front of the card using Stampin' Dimensionals. I used a Rhinestone for the dove's eye. I stamped "Peace on Earth" from the same stamp set and then embossed it with Clear Embossing Powder and a Heat Tool. I punched it out using the Extra Large Oval Punch and adhered it to the front of the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.

Three Rhinestone Basic Jewels finish off the card. You know I love to embellish the inside of my card and I didn't forget this one! I used a thin strip of Silver Glimmer Paper. Metal Thankful Card

Wednesday also means that it's time for another Dazzling Diva Design Challenge! Today's challenge is to create a "Thanks" card with someone you're grateful for in mind. (See the Challenge Photo Below) I try to live a life of Gratitude every day. I am eternally grateful for my family. I am blessed to have a husband and children I actually LIKE as well as my extended family close by. My friends are a blessing I never take for granted because it took me a long time to have friends I can trust. I am grateful for good health for myself and those I love. Many of my close friends are having health challenges this year and I worry about them all the time. But – today – I need to add one of my Facebook Fans, Laura Hearold. I've never met her and she has never met me. Today I received the most beautiful card from her! It was not only physically beautiful (which it WAS) but it had the kindest words and her heartfelt support for me – someone she only knows through our mutual love of Paper Crafting. You may remember her beautiful card a while back – you can see it HERE. I don't know if you all realize how much you enrich my life. I love knowing you're all out there! When I'm creating, I think of you and whether you'll like the projects I'm creating. I've met many of you but most of you I only know "on line." I am so grateful for your friendships and the kindness you have shown me and each other. Have a blessed Thanksgiving surrounded by people you love! Now…on to the card!

You know I am a total Bling-a-potamus! I love shimmery and shiny! So, I combined two of my favorite things - Metal Sheets and Silver Shimmer Paper - to create this "Metal Thankful Card." The base card is 5 1/2" x 11" scored and folded in half. The Silver Gimmer Paper is 5 3/8" x 5 3/8". The next layer is Whisper White Cardstock that was passed through the Big Shot in the Stylish Stripes Embossing Folder. (I had to do some of it and then shimmy it up a little and pass it through again because the folder was not big enough to do the whole card at once.) A piece of Whisper White Organza Ribbon was wrapped around the front of the two layers and secured in the back using Glue Dots. The Scarlet Red Metal Sheet was cut using the Gift Bow Bigz Die and the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine. I then embossed each piece using the Beautifully Baroque Embossing Folder. I used a round marker barrel to round the metal instead of my Bone Folder. This will give you the rounding without crease marks. I used Sticky Strip to attach the bow pieces to each other and then I attached it to the front of the card with Sticky Strip.

The word "Thankful" was cut using the Expressions Thinlits and a Scarlet Red Metal Sheet. If you put a piece of wax paper between the die and the metal, you will be able to pop it out without any trouble! Be careful not to crease the metal when removing it from the die. It was then adhered to the front of the card using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. The "For You" from A Round Array Stamp Set was stamped onto Whisper White Cardstock using Real Red Ink and then it was embossed using Clear Embossing Powder and a Heat Tool. It was then punched out using a 7/8" Scalloped Circle Punch and layered onto a 1" Circle Punch of Silver Glimmer Paper using a Stampin' Dimensional. That was then adhered to a punch from the 1 1/4" Scallop Circle Punch and adhered to the card front using Glue Dots.

Don't forget to decorate the inside of your card! This 1/2" strip of Silver Glimmer Paper does the trick! I would probably make a little box for this card because an envelope wouldn't work. Festive Flurry Circle Card

Winter has finally peeked his head out! The temperature has plummeted here and it actually snowed a little the other day! Wow! That happened FAST! In honor of the approaching Winter Weather, I created this Festive Flurry Circle Card. It's funny how your surroundings influence your Card Making. Be sure to stop back tomorrow for my BLACK FRIDAY SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT! (Hint: I'm VERY excited! It's something I've never offered before!!!) Okay…back to the card…The Circles Collection Framelits make creating this card a cinch. Just fold a piece of 5 1/2" x 11" Pool Party Cardstock in half at 5 1/2". Make sure to score the edge with your Bone Folder. Place the Scalloped Circle from the Circle Collection Framelits over the folded card – making certain to leave 3 scallops ABOVE the fold. Run it through the Big Shot. You will have the Scalloped Circle Card with the fold still attached. Run another piece of Pool Party Cardstock through the Big Shot using the same Scalloped Circle Framelit – but, this time, cut the whole circle. Adhere this over the card so that you have the full scalloped circle as your card front.

Using the largest Circle Framelit, cut a piece of Winter Frost Specialty Designer Series Paper for the front of your card and a piece of Whisper White Cardstock for the inside of your card. Cut 3 strips from 3 different patterns of Winter Frost Designer Series Paper – two of them at 1" x 3" and one at 1" x 3 1/2". Adhere the two smaller strips to the card front using SNAIL Adhesive Refill. Adhere the larger strip in the center using Stampin' Dimensionals. Run a piece of Whisper White Organdy Ribbon across the front of the Designer Series Paper Circle and adhere in the back using Glue Dots. Run a piece of 1/8" Silver Ribbon across the center of the Organdy Ribbon and secure in the back using Glue Dots. Adhere the Circle to the front of your card using SNAIL Adhesive Refill.

Stamp the smallest snowflake from the Festive Flurry Stamp Set in Bermuda Bay Ink onto Whisper White Cardstock and cut out using the matching Festive Flurry Framelits. Cut a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper in the next size snowflake Framelit. Adhere them to each other using Stampin' Dimensionals and then adhere the whole snowflake to the cardfront using Stampin' Dimensionals. Place a Frosted Finishes Embellishment in the center of the snowflakes.

Then, if you're like me, you just can't stop yourself from adding some Rhinestone Basic Jewels around the scallops of the card! It's downright Bling-A-Licious! If you'd like to make this card, you can have the supplies delivered right to your door. Find all of the supplies in my ONLINE STORE!

Tea Party Metal Card

Happy Saturday!!! I am excited to welcome all the Metal Peeps from the Add A Little Dazzle Dazzling Divas Design Challenges! When Monica asked me to join her Design Team, I immediately said: YES! I LOVE her metal! I've been using it A LOT lately. I created a card for this inaugural challenge on Wednesday. You can see that HERE. I couldn't resist doing another one when Monica said she would be introducing me today! So, let me tell you a little about me…I have been a Paper Crafter for over 15 years. I love Card Making, Tags, Paper Crafting, Art Journals, and I love sharing my creations with YOU! The base card for this project is Very Vanilla Textured Cardstock. I started with a piece of 12 x 12 cardstock and cut it down to 5 1/2" x 9" and then scored it in half at 4 1/2". It's a little larger than a regular card but I can make my own envelope with the new Envelope Board so it's all good! The next layer is Pink Pirouette Cardstock which was passed through the Big Shot in the Pretty Print Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The Precious Pearl Metal Sheet was run through the Big Shot in the Stripes Embossing Folder and adhered to the Pink Pirouette Cardstock. A piece of Very Vanilla Seam Binding was ruffled across the seam. A piece of Pink Pirouette Cardstock was cut with a Deco Labels Framelit which was passed through the Big Shot in the Striped Embossing Folder. The edges were sponged using Crumb Cake Ink.

The stamp is from the Tea Party Stamp Set. It was colored using Crumb Cake and Pink Pirouette Stampin' Write Markers and then cut using the Ovals Collection Framelits and adhered to the Deco Framelit piece using Stampin' Dimensionals. Pearl Basic Jewels were used to outline the oval. The entire piece was then adhered to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals.

The little roses are from the retired 5/8" Flower Trim. Stampin' Up! needs to bring that BACK! Two of them were sponged with Pink Pirouette Ink using a Sponge Dauber. They were adhered to the project using Glue Dots. Lastly, Large Pearl Basic Jewels were adhered to the lower corner of the card. The supplies for this project are Stampin' Up! Best of Birthdays Metal Card

I have an exciting announcement! I have joined the Add A Little Dazzle Design Team!!! That makes me a Design Team Diva again! As you know, I am a Stamp Academy Design Team Diva and because I have fallen in love with AALD Metal Sheets, I will be contributing to the Dazzling Diva Design Challenges every Wednesday! You can check out the Challenge Blog HERE. This is the Challenge Photo we received for Dazzling Divas Design Challenge #1

I loved the soft color palette and the beautiful roses! My card is another example of Metal meets Embossing Folder. I love using Metal in many different ways but with Embossing Folders are my favorite! You can emboss it and leave it like I did with this card or you can emboss it and then sand the color off the metal for a completely different look like I did with THIS card. Either way, it is a very elegant addition to any of your Paper Crafting Projects! I used the Stylish Stripes Embossing Folder to mimic the lines on the pumpkin and made a few Rolled Roses out of Scallop Circles.

The base card is a half sheet of Crumb Cake Cardstock scored in half and folded. The next layer is a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Pink Pirouette Cardstock passed through the Big Shot in the Stylish Stripes Embossing Folder. The Pecious Pearl Metal Sheet was cut to 4 3/4" x 2 1/4" and was passed through the Big Shot in the Beautifully Baroque Embossing Folder. The greeting is from the Best of Birthdays Stamp Set. It was stamped in Crumb Cake Ink onto Very Vanilla Cardstock and then punched out using the Extra Large Oval Punch. It was then stamped again – this time using Pink Pirouette Ink onto Very Vanilla Cardstock and cut out using Paper Snips. The word "Birthday" was attached to the greeting using Stampin' Dimensionals. The entire oval was attached to a piece of Pink Pirouette Cardstock using Stampin' Dimensionals. The layer of Pink Pirouette Cardstock was cut using the Big Shot and Deco Labels Framelits and then passed through the Big Shot in the Pretty Print Embossing Folder. It was then adhered to the card using Stampin' Dimensionals. The edge of the oval and the label were embellished using Dazzling Details.

The little rolled roses were created using the 1 3/4" Scallop Circle Punch. Just punch out the scalloped circle and then spiral cut it using your Paper Snips. Roll it up and adhere it to itself using Glue Dots and put a Pearl Basic Jewel in the center. You can see a video HERE (it's an old one so don't judge LOL!). They were ahered to the project using Glue Dots. The cardstock used was Crumb Cake and Pink Pirouette. The edges of the roses were embellished using Dazzling Details.

I love this bow! Very Vanilla Seam Binding is so elegant! It's a great addition to your Card Making Projects! The double bow was first tied and then adhered to the Card Front using Glue Dots. The "tails" of the bow were banner cut using Craft Scissors and then placed to look as if they were ruffled using Glue Dots.
