Our Clear Blocks!

Our Clear Blocks come in different sizes to accomodate our Clear Stamps. They have the same ridges on the side for easy gripping and are, of course, of the highest quality! BUT…did you know they're not just for stamping?! One of the things you can do with them is use the blocks as stamps! Just tap them onto your ink pad and then onto card stock and you'll have great "blocks" to stamp in! Also, you can put a collection of stamps onto one block as a collage and then stamp it again and again. I sometimes put Masking Tape onto the large block and then ink the tape with our Stampin' Write Markers to create a background. You can see a sample of that HERE and HERE AND HERE .

Vintage Tag

I absolutely LOVE Vintage Backgrounds! So much so that I often get carried away with them and I start distressing everything! It only takes a couple of drops of ink and some water to make a great background. For this tag, I started with a Craft Mat. If you don't have a craft mat, you'll need some time of non-porous surface – like wax paper. Next, you put a couple of drops of reinker onto the mat – then continue with another color, if you'd like. Next, spritz with water and then drag your tag through the ink repeatedly until you have the desired effect. Next, I used the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set to stamp the splatter with Island Indigo Ink. The small Script was stamped in Early Espresso Ink. It is from the By The Tide Stamp Set. The Watch is from the Clockworks Stamp Set. I stamped it in Island Indigo Ink. It was then outlined using a Gold Metallic Pen. The center is a Brad Base with a Candy Dot. The Grid Stamp was embossed with Gold Embossing Powder and a Heat Tool.

The butterfly is from the Papillion Potpourri Stamp Set. It is punched out using the Butterfly Punch and then spritzed with homemade spritzers – Island Indigo Reinker and Alcohol and Chocolate Chip Reinker and Alcohol. The edges were sponged with Chocolate Chip Ink. Rhinestone Basic Jewels were used to accent the butterfly. It was adhered to the Tag using Glue Dots.

The Lock and Key were die cut from Brushed Gold Cardstock. The cardstock was sanded in spots and then spritzed with a mixture of Chocolate Chip Reinker and Alcohol. They were popped up using Stampin' Dimensionals. Various Fibers were used to accent the tag.

Fall and School and Letters, Oh My!

Orange and Black will always make me think of Halloween – and then Fall and School and…that's where the Letters come from! The Alphabet Textured Impressions Folder on Tangerine Tango Cardstock is the main body of this card. I used the Whisper White cardstock to separate the two colors which, kinda, softens the look and, hopefully, takes away some of the Halloweeniness. (Yes! It is too a word! My friend, Xtina, says: "If you can spell it, it's a word!") So, I started with Basic Black Cardstock and ran it through the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine with the Striped Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Then, I ran the Tangerine Tango cardstock through the Big Shot using the Alphabet Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. That really took care of the majority of the "work" in creating this card! The greeting is from the Really Good Greetings Stamp Set and, yes! It does have some really great greetings! (See images below)

A 1/8" Tafetta Ribbon in Basic Black runs across the front of the card and is finished off with a little bow that is adhered to the card with Glue Dots. The Sentiment was stamped in Jet Black Stazon Ink onto Whisper White cardstock and was then cut in the Big Shot with Deco Labels Framelits. The Basic Black layer was also cut with the Deco Label Framelits. The entire greeting was then popped up using Stampin' Dimensionals.

To finish it off, a Vintage Faceted Button was applied to the greeting with Glue Dots. A Rhinestone Basic Jewel was adhered to the centerof the button. (The products list is below.) All Supplies are Stampin' Up! and can be found in my ONLINE STORE. Enjoy! ;-D

Gently Falling Sweater Weather Card

I know it's still summer but I CAN'T WAIT for FALL!!!!! I am officially a fall freak! I love everything about it! The weather, the leaves, the breeze, apple picking, pumpkin picking, the holidays, everything! In the Northeast – where I live – it is absolutely GORGEOUS in the fall! The weather is in the 60's and 70's and I am just happy all the time! So, in anticipation of that glorious time of year, I created this "fall" card using our Sweater Weather Designer Series Paper and the Gently Falling Stamp Set. The Chocolate Chip background is Core'dinations Cardstock from the Neutrals Collection. I ran it through the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine with a Houndstooth Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and then used a Sanding Tool to distress it.

The base card is Crushed Curry Cardstock with a layer of Tangerine Tango Cardstock and then the Chocolate Chip Core'dinations Cardstock. The top layers are both patterns from Sweater Weather Designer Series Paper and they are bordered with Crushed Curry Cardstock andTangerine Tango Cardstock. The leaves from Gently Falling Stamp Set were stamped first in Versamark Ink and then embossed using Gold Embossing Powder and a Stampin' Heat Tool.

A strip of Sweater Weather Designer Series Paper was used to accent the Very Vanilla Cardstock intereior.

The greeting is from the Fabulous Phrases Stamp Set and was inked in Versamark Ink and then embossed using Gold Embossing Powder and a Heat Tool. The Chocolate Chip Cardstock was then punched using a 7/8" Scallop Circle Punch and then layered onto a piece of Tangerine Tango Cardstock that was punched using a 1 1/4" Scallop Circle Punch. Card Making is definitely easier when you have good tools! A Crushed Curry Button was used to accent the front of the card. Linen Thread is tied through it and it is adhered with Glue Dots. Thanks So Much and Friendship

I received this card from Felice Passarelli yesterday and it reminded me of everything I love about Card Making/Paper Crafting – and Friendship! When we create cards and projects, we often forget about the impact of receiving those cards and projects. As a Card MAKER, I send cards far more often than I receive them. But…when I do receive them, I feel like a kid again – when you walked to the mailbox and received a card from someone. It makes you realize that you're important to that person. It's easier to express how we feel in writing and sometimes the person you're sending the card to doesn't know just how special they are to you! My friend Felice and I have known each other since our 23 year old children met in preschool. She and I have been involved in Stampin' Up! for 15 years together. We go to events together for business and we socialize as well. We're in the same Book Club too! But, her kind words and this card meant so much to me! So…never underestimate the power of a card and a few words! Just sayin'!

Hello Masking Tape Background Card

You know I get addicted to Stamping Techniques sometimes. This is one of those times! I love, love, love the Masking Tape Background! It's so easy! You can see the original post HERE. This time, I put the Masking Tape onto one of our clear blocks and then used Stampin' Write Markers to color the "stripes." The Crisp Cantaloupe Stampin' Write Marker was used for half of the "stripes" and a Crumb Cake Stampin' Write Marker was used to color the others. I also misted the tape a second and third time to create additional backgrounds (See below).

The base card is Crumb Cake Cardstock. The next layer is Calypso Coral Cardstock that has been run through the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine in a Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The Seashell is from the By The Tide Stamp Set. It is stamped in Crumb Cake Ink and then embossed using Clear Embossing Powder and a Stampin' Heat Tool. I then cut it out with Paper Snips and layered it onto a piece of Crumb Cake Cardstock which I cut out as well. I then popped it up and adhered it to the front of the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.

The greeting is from the Four You Stamp Set and was stamped onto Whisper White Cardstock using Calypso Coral Ink. It was cut using one of the labelFramelits from Chalk Talk Framelits. A piece of Crumb Cake Cardstock was cut with the same Framelit.I cut that piece on the diagonal and reassembled it behind the greeting. That piece was popped up and adhered to the front of the card using Stampin' Dimensionals. The product list is below. All Supplies are Stampin' Up! and can be found in my ONLINE STORE.

The Masking Tape was adhered to the Clear Block and the Stampin' Write Markers were used to create the background. The card shown above was the first "stamp" of the tape onto the cardstock. I then misted it with water and stamped it two more times. You can see the results below.

This was the first time I stamped it after misting it with water. (I did not recolor it.)

This was the second time I misted it with water and stamped it again. The background does fade with each stamp but it still creates a useable background for your Card Making Projects!

Really Good Greetings

Really Good Greetings is the name of the Stamp Set and, yes, it does have really good greetings! 😀 (See images below). This card probably should have been a little larger because the flowers really do take center stage. I intended to do one flower but it was a little big so I had to balance it with a little one on the bottom. Everything was created with Soho Subway Designer Series Paper. I love that stuff! There are so many unique images that you can get a great variety if you mix and match! I wouldn't call this card "Grunge" but perhaps "Shabby Chic" might apply.

The base of the card is Chocolate Chip Cardstock 4 1/4" x 8 1/2" and scored at 4 1/4". It was distressed using a Stampin' Distress Tool. The next layer is Soho Subway Designer Series Paper that was distressed and sponged with Chocolate Chip Ink. The Greeting is from Really Good Greetings and is stamped onto Very Vanilla Cardstock in Chocolate Chip Ink and then embossed using Clear Embossing Powder and a Heat Tool. It was cut using Deco Labels Framelits and a Big Shot Die Cutting Machine. The edges were sponged with Chocolate Chip Ink and a Stampin' Sponge. The Chocolate Chip border was cut with the same size Framelit and then was cut in half and adhered to the back of the sentiment.

The large flower was created by punching the same pattern of Soho Subway Designer Series Paper using the Pansy Flower Punch and then snipping into the petals and sponging them with Chocolate Chip Ink and a Stampin' Sponge. I used Glue Dots to overlap the petals to give the flower a more realistic look. I used a Bone Folder to curl the petals downward and then applied Dazzling Diamond Glitter using a 2-Way Glue Pen. The brad was covered with a Pearl Basic Jewel that was dipped into Chocolate Chip Ink and then embossed using Clear Embossing Powder and a Heat Tool. It was then adhere to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals.

Victoria Crochet Trim is wrapped around the card and then tied into a knot.

The smaller flower was created by punching the same pattern of Soho Subway Designer Series Paper using a 7/8" Scallop Circle Punch and then sponging the edges with Chocolate Chip Ink and a Stampin' Sponge. I cut into some of the scallops to make it easier to overlap them. I used Glue Dots to place the "petals" to give the flower more dimension. It is adhered to the card with Glue Dots.

The three Pearl Basic Jewels in the lower corner of the card were dipped into Chocolate Chip Ink and then embossed using Clear Embossing Powder and a Heat Tool. Don't forget to follow your theme into the inside of your card! I used a Deco Label Framelit to cut a piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock and then sponged the edges using Chocolate Chip Ink and a Stampin' Sponge. Chalk Talk and Masking Tape

Chalk Talk has become one of my Top 3 favorite sets in the New Stampin' Up! Catalog! It is soooo versatile! I stamped a bunch of these and left them out on my desk and, sure enough, I found a good use for them! LOL! I've seen this technique using the sticky side of the Masking Tape almost as a "stamp" but i like to use the non-sticky side because it gives a "splotchier" end result. Very simply, I put masking tape onto my ink pad – holding the sticky side on my fingers – and then patted it onto the Whisper White card stock. I repeated it with a clean piece and a new ink pad each time. For this card, I used Daffodil Delight Ink, Melon Mambo Ink and Bermuda Bay Ink. The Chalk Talk sentiment was stamped in White Craft Ink and then I lightly sponged Tempting Turquoise Ink on top to give it a slight color.

The base card is Bermuda Bay Cardstock. My favorite of all the NEW colors! (You know my real favorite of the regular colors is Crumb Cake.) I love how "bright" these colors are! They remind me of Summer! The paper flower is the same one I do over and over! You can see the Video HERE. Express Yourself Medallion Card

I told you! I am definitely a Paper Crafting Addict but that I started with these ribbon medallions, I just can't stop myself! LOL! (You can see a Video HERE.) This card took all of 3 minutes to put together! The Express Yourself Hostess Stamp Set always has an appropriate sentiment. This one actually said "Always Thinking of You" but I used my Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker to color in just the "Thinking of You" and it worked perfectly! The Houndstooth Embossing Folder was all I needed besides the Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding Medallion. I clipped the opposite corners with a corner rounder just because I could!

The center of the Medallion is accented with a Black Button from the Neutrals Collection and then a Large Rhinestone Basic Jewel. All supplies are Stampin' Up! and can be found in my ONLINE STORE. Enjoy! 🙂

Papillion Potpourri And More

Today's card is my attempt at a Clean and Simple Card! The Papillion Potpourri Stamp Set is full of different butterflies. I chose this one to accent one of the flowers from Stampin' Up!'s Flower Shop Stamp Set. The sentiment is from the Express Yourself Hostess Set. The technique I used was "Masking Tape" which I've explained before but, very simply, you touch your Masking Tape to your ink pad and then to your paper. The Ink Colors used here are Pool Party and the black is Jet Black Stazon Ink. The flower centers were accented with a Sponge Dauber.

The light splatter effect was created by using first a Pool Party Stampin' Write Marker and then a Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker in a Color Spritzing Tool.

The butterfly was stamped in Jet Black Stazon Ink onto Whisper White Cardstock and then colored in using a Pool Party Stampin' Write Marker. Then, it was stamped onto Cardstock Vellum in Jet Black Stazon Ink. I used a Pool Party Stampin' Write Marker to color on the BACK of the Vellum and then used a 2-Way Glue Pen to outline the edge of the butterfly and sprinkled it with Dazzling Diamonds Glitter. I then attached the Vellum Butterfly to the Cardstock Butterfly and adhered them to the flower using Glue Dots.

Rhinestone Basic Jewels were used to accent the sentiment. All supplies are Stampin' Up! and can be found in my ONLINE STORE.
