I had the pleasure of having lunch with one of my dearest friends from childhood. It is such a joy to have good friends – especially those who share your memories from long ago! It doesn't matter how long it has been since you've seen them, it is always the same. Sometimes you truly love those best who you loved first. This is a thank you card to my friend, Rose, for the beautiful birthday gift she gave me today!
The rose was made recycling the brown paper that comes in our Stampin' Up! boxes. I sponged Concord Crush ink onto the paper and then punched it out using the large scallop punch and then scrunched it up and then sprayed with gold smooch spray. (I'm sorry to say – it looks better in person.)
Enjoy!

Beautiful, Cathy! I bet a flower like that with the brown packaging paper as it comes would be awesome, too. I’m going to have to give it a try! Terry

I was grateful for the challenge! Any excuse to make flowers! LOL!
Hi Cathy,
I can see how pretty your flower looks! Love the gold spritz and also the little pearls in the center of the flowers on the embossed layer. Beautiful card!
Cathy, the flower looks beautiful. I hadn’t thought to sponge the brown packaging to use it in such a pretty way. After seeing your wonderful creation, it is now on my to do list.
How pretty this is! I love that you used that paper…fantastic! Glad you joined us this week at SUO Challenges!
Thanks, Laura!
I love that embossing folder with the pearls! I use it WAY too often! LOL

You are so clever! Love your flower, Cathy! Thanks for sharing your secret!
Beautiful, 3-D flower. That looks like a hand-delivery! Thanks for joining SUO Challenges.
Thanks! I usually put those cards in empty stamp cases and then a padded envelope and then mail them. 😉
Wow, Cathy! I love that flower! I’ve been making them out of the brown packing paper, but never thought about sponging color on it first! Great idea and thanks for sharing! Terry
