Live Simply – Great Advice…Do as I say, Not as I do! As much as we TRY to live simply, we often get dragged into "the vortex" of busyness! I do always try to come back to center. The past couple of weeks have been spinning out of control! LOL! You know when you take a week off, it seems like you're a month behind when you come back! I spent an amazing week in Florida! First with my daughter in Miami, then my nephew and his family (two beautiful newborn twin boys!) and then squeezed in a trip to my in-laws. It was great – and then I capped it off with a missed flight and it's been insane since then! Today, I'm up early and creating again! This card is for my swap partner in a card making group I belong to. I need to get this baby in the mail NOW! The first card follows a Sketch Challenge but then I just HAD to add the bow! Take a look at the pictures and let me know which one you like better. (There's BLOG CANDY – just sayin'!!!) I hope you're having a great day! 🙂
I started with a base card of Very Vanilla Cardstock, layered Crumb Cake Cardstock, then Crisp Cantaloupe Cardstock that was run through the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine in the Modern Mosaic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The next layer is Crumb Cake with the edges scalloped using the Scallop Trim Border Punch. The Crisp Cantaloupe layer on top of that was run through the Big Shot in the Beautifully Baroque Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (my favorite!). The Sentiment was stamped in Crumb Cake Ink and embossed with Clear Embossing Powder and a Heat Tool. The "swirls" are Crisp Cantaloup Ink and the Always Eleanor Stamp Set. Pearl Basic Jewels were used for accents. The whole piece was then adhered to the card using Stampin' Dimensionals. The ribbon on the bottom is Victoria Crochet Trim with the edges cut using my Craft Scissors which are dedicated to ONLY cutting ribbon so they stay nice and sharp!
Don't forget to decorate the INSIDE of your cards! This one is stamped with the same swirl and the same ink. The card was sprayed inside and out with Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz Spray.
This is another version of the same card 'cause sometimes I just can't stop myself! LOL! I added a double bow. What do you think???? All Supplies Are Stampin' Up! and cand be purchased in my ONLINE STORE. Thanks for stopping by! (Don't forget the BLOG CANDY! – Leave me a comment for a chance to win.)

Oohhh….Love the Crisp Cantaloupe with the Crumb Cake! I like the first one best, I think. Easier to mail, too! 🙂 Thanks for sharing!
Love this so pretty and a nice vintage touch. I usually love a bow but am so impressed on how this card stands alone….beautiful.
Hi Cathy, Pretty card! I’m Kim. I met you in the Copic certification class last Friday. You said you play in Mojo Monday Challenges so I tracked you down! Stop by my blog sometime!

Such a pretty card – love Vintage! I have to say I prefer the first card. It is so awesome, it does not need the addition of the bow. Nice bow, but not really needed in this case. Love the colors too. Love all the embossing. Fantastic!
Thanks, Ladies! I guess most of you like the first one best and, I have to say, I agree! Thanks for the kind words! 🙂
