Baby Blue Craft Metal Quilted Card and Purse

I recently had the opportunity to visit with an old friend who moved to Florida.  I love catching up with people when it seems like you saw each other yesterday even when it’s been years.  Carolyn is one of the most talented Crafters I know – and I know a lot of them!  She can do anything!  She recently got back to sewing and surprised me with this beautiful little bag which I’m going to use for jewelry when I travel.  I wish you could see the workmanship.  Every seam is perfect!

I wanted to create a Thank You Card that looked like the bag.  This week’s Dazzling Diva Challenge uses an Inspirational Photo (shown below) with the exact color of this metal so I thought it was a perfect beginning for this project  because metal is so rich and elegant that I knew it would provide a great  background for this simple pattern.

I embossed a strip of SU!’s White Shimmer Cardstock and attached it to a 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ piece of White Shimmer Cardstock.

I used the Stampin’ Score Board to score the metal to create the squares and attached it onto the post card.

I wrapped a piece of Whisper White 5/8″ Satin Ribbon around the post card and attached a Double Bow. (See VIDEO HERE of how to tie a double bow using your fingers.)

After attaching the postcard to a base card of White Shimmer Cardstock that was cut to 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ and scored at 4-1/4″ (using Stampin’ Dimensionals), I attached Rhinestone Basic Jewels at all of the intersecting points of the score lines.

The Greeting was stamped in Lost Lagoon Ink and embossed with Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder (to mask the fact that the ink wasn’t a perfect match).  It was popped out with a Circle Punch and attached to a piece of Baby Blue Craft Metal that was die cut using SU!’s Window Die Framelits and attached to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
