My August favorite is a vintage card with a distressed background that uses reinkers and some Picket Fence Paint.  Once I start distressing, I just can't stop and then everything in the vicinity of my stamp table gets grunged out! You can see the details HERE.

Before I do March/April, I just want to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas!  I hope you're surrounded by people you love this holiday and always.  I hope you know how much I appreciate each of you!  It warms my heart when you leave comments and let me know that my projects have inspired you in some way.  Often when I am creating something, I'm wondering if you are going to like it.  So, thank you for your continued loyalty.  It means the world to me.

For the 2013 Year in Review Week – I am starting with January 2013.  I've loved cards I've received and lots from StampAcademy designers but the ones I am showing here will be (mostly) my own creations.    I will be mailing out BLOG CANDY so don't forget to leave me a comment and let me know YOUR favorites for the year.

This is a little bit of a "cheater" because this card was actually from June 2012 – you can see the original post HERE.  I loved this Designer Series Paper because of all the variations in color.  It took all of the work out of creating!  So…this is my first favorite for 2013.  The second fave is from February 2013.  This "God Bless You" card has a similar color palette to January.  The DSP was probably on my desk from the January card! LOL!  Overall, I like the way it came together – a little distressed but not totally grungy.

I know it's nowhere near Valentine's Day time but I've been filming the bonus projects for StampAcademy and a couple of them are "love-ly" so the "love" thinlet was staring up at me from my desk! I've been swamped with all of the extra Holiday "stuff" and I guess I may be ignoring my husband a little. I'm not a very "mushy" person but, I think the universe was trying to tell me something! LOL! The base card is a half sheet of Crumb Cake Cardstock (4 1/4 x 11) scored in half and folded.  The next layer is also Crumb Cake Cardstock (#120953).  It was distressed and run through the BigShot (#113439) in the Adorning Accents Embossing Folder (#125601)and then sponged with Chocolate Chip Ink (#126979).  A strip of Burlap Ribbon (#132140) was wrapped around the top layer and Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding (#120992) was used to create the Double Bow (See Video HERE).  The Hearts Collection Framelits (#125599)) were used to cut the heart from Blushing Bride Cardstock (#131198).  The heart was adhered to the cardstock using Stampin' Dimensionals (#104430). The "love" was cut using the Expressions Thinlets (#132171) *Tip: Use wax paper between the thinlet and the cardstock for easy removal.  It was adhered to the heart using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (#110755).

Not really but it was the only "Silver" that came to mind!  ;-)  I had some Metal scraps on my desk so I thought I'd use them for today's card.  I don't know about you, but I'm kinda in panic mode right now!  I haven't started shopping and the days are flying by!  If you need last minute Holiday Ideas, you can find them HERE.  I was looking for a quick card and this one doesn't have any stamping on it at all!  I'm all about the Embossing Folders and Beautifully Baroque is my favorite so I embossed all three ornaments with that. They are actually black metal but I just turned them over to the silver side and cut them using the Ornament Framelits on the Carryover List.  (I always forget about that list!)

This card uses the Dazzling Diva Design Challenge Photo as inspiration (see below).  The base card is Whisper White Cardstock cut in half (hot dog style-top to bottom) 4 1/4" x 11" and scored in half at 5 1/2" and folded.  The next layer is also Whisper White Cardstock and it is 4" x 5 1/4" with a layer of Silver Striped Vellum attached.  If you put Glue Dots behind the silver sections, you won't see the adhesive from the front.  I attached a thin 1/8" Silver Ribbon behind each ornament using a Glue Dot and then adhered it behind the cardstock.  The ornaments themselves are attached to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.  The little Silver Ribbon Bows are attached with Glue Dots as well.

I adhered the Silver Ribbon to a piece of Whisper White Organza Ribbon and then tied a double bow.  (You can see that Video HERE.) and wrapped it around the back of the top layer using Glue Dots.  The "ripples" in the ribbon were done with Glue Dots.  I like cards without greetings sometimes and I think the sentiment is implied. 🙂  All supplies are Stampin' Up! and can be delivered to your door by clicking HERE.  The metal is Add A Little Dazzle.

If you're stressing over your holiday gift giving, I've got you covered HERE.  If you love Sneak Peeks, there are a couple of new treats to keep you warm this winter – The Occasions Mini Catalog launches January 3rd and the Sale-A-Bration Brochure on January 28th.  This card is a sneak peek of the Occasions Mini Stamp Set "Follow My Heart."  I really like this set!  I paired it with the Gold Vellum and Gold Sequins to make this Blingie Creation.  The banner uses the new Gold Sequin Trim and the NEW Banner Punch. The banner is stamped with a Follow My Heart Stamp and then punched with the Banner Punch.  They are adhered to the front of the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.  The Gold Sequin Trim is attached with Glue Dots.

The Cherry Cobbler Cardstock was cut in half and then scored and folded in half. The next layer is a 3 3/4" x 5" piece of Whisper White Cardstock with a layer of Gold Fancy Foil Vellum.  A piece of Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding was wrapped around the card front and a double bow was added with Glue Dots. The center of the bow was accented with a gold sequin from the Gold Sequin Trim spool.  If you'd like to learn how to tie a double bow using your fingers, you can find a Video HERE.

The greeting layer is a piece of Cherry Cobbler Cardstock with a layer of Whisper White cardstock.  The Eiffel Tower was stamped in Gold Encore Ink and embossed with Clear Embossing Powder.  The sentiment was stamped in Cherry Cobbler Ink and embossed with Clear Embossing Powder.  It was attached to the front of the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.  All Supplies are Stampin' Up! and can be found in my ONLNE STORE.

We had our first snowfall and it was beautiful!  It inspired me to use my Festive Flurry Stamp Set with the matching Framelits – again.  I love the simplicity of the snowflake but then you can glam it up with both paper, glitter and bling!  This card uses layer and texture to create interest.  If you need more Holiday Ideas, Grab them HERE.

The base card is a half sheet of Stampin' Up!'s Early Espresso Cardstock, scored in half and folded in half.  The next layer is Coastal Cabana Cardstock 4 1/8" x 5 3/8".  It was embossed with the Big Shot and the Pretty Print Embossing Folder.  The snowflake was cut using the Festive Flurry Framelits. The bottom layer is Whisper White Cardstock that was embossed using the Polka Dot Embossing Folder.  The next layer is Silver Glimmer Paper.  The top layer is White Vellum Cardstock that was stamped using the Festive Flurry Stamp Set and Coastal Cabana Ink.  It was then embossed with Irridescent Ice Embossing Powder and a Heat Tool.  The snowflakes are layered using Stampin' Dimensionals and finished off with a Frosted Finishes Embellishment to give it a pop of bling.

The word "Believe" is from the Snowflake Soiree Stamp Set (on the CarryOver list) and is stamped in Early Espresso Ink and then embossed with Clear Embossing Powder and a Heat Tool.  Overall, I like the clean look of this card and I hope you do too!  If you want any of the supplies delivered to your door, you can order them in my ONLINE STORE.  (Supply List is Below)
