Distress is delicious! I just love, love, love it! I haven’t done one of Tim’s 12 Tags of 2015 in a while and boy have I missed it! This one was really different from anything I’ve done before. Lots of steps. You can see all the details on TimHoltz.com. And…btw..do you LOVE this Typewriter! I’ve been searching for one for a very long time! I found it on Etsy and I couldn’t be more thrilled! It’s the simple things that make me happy.
- The Tag background uses Die Cuts to cut through a tag.
- Tissue Paper was attached to a second tag and then they were adhered together with Multi-Matte Medium.
- White Gesso was applied over the top of the tag. While it was still wet, some of it was removed from the depressed areas with a paper towel so that the background can show through.
- Once the Gesso dried, Distress Inks – Evergreen Bough, Rusty Hinge, Peeled Paint, Mermaid Lagoon – were applied over the top of the tag.
- Multi-Matte Medium was used to blend the inks. It was then dried with a Heat Tool.
- The Found Relative from the French Industrial Salvage Stickers was attached to the tag with Multi-Matte Medium.
- A stamp from the Just Thoughts Stamp Set was inked in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and stamped over the surface of the tag.
- The “Traveler” piece was cut from a piece of TH Idea-ology Paper Stash Paper. The Lux Hotel Sticker is also from the French Industrial Salvage Stickers. Both were then covered in Multi-Matte Medium.
- A stamp from the Just Thoughts Stamp Set was inked in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and stamped over the surface of the tag.
- A Vial Label Sticker was attached to the tag with a Tiny Attacher. A Remnant Rub from Special Delivery was attached to the tag.
- A Small Talk Sticker was cut, distressed with a Sanding Block and attached to the tag.
- The edge of the tag was distressed with a Distress Tool. Black Soot Distress Paint was rubbed onto the edges of the tag.
- Idea-ology Elements were attached to the tag.
- Tarnished Brass Distress Paint was splattered onto the surface of the tag. (And all over my office!)
- A tiny Star was colored with Alcohol Ink and attached to the tag.
- A piece of the Naturals Black and Cream Trimmings was pulled through the tag and tied with a small piece of Jute String to finish it off.
