Happy Mother’s Day!!!!! I cannot think of anything in this world that makes me happier than being a Mom to my two kids! I feel truly blessed to have both my Kids and my Mom! I created this card for my Grandmother who will be 100 in November!
There are lots of goodies on this card – Stamping, Embossing, Watercoloring, Ribbons, Pearls, and a very special button from my Grandmother’s stash.
This simple Watercoloring Technique uses Black Archival Ink to stamp the flowers onto the smooth side of Watercolor Paper. It’s colored using 3 shades of Pink Water-based Markers and then spritzed with water and blotted with a Paper Towel. In the photo on the right, you can see the shimmer from both the Vanilla Smooch Spritz Spray and the Wink of Stella Glitter Pen.
My Mom gave me this little treasure trove of buttons. It was my beloved Grandmother’s stash. She’s been gone almost 25 years but the buttons look brand new!!!!
Don’t forget to stamp the inside of your cards and the envelopes too!!
I wanted to create a Goodie Bag to decorate the Mother’s Day Table for my family. I started with a Paper Flower. This one is a little different than the ones you usually see me do. I was inspired by Gracie Chavez’s flowers at Frilly and Funkie but my arthritis forces me to find easier ways of doing tiny work so I just punched, spritzed, scrunched, dried, pierced, and smushed. There are a few photos here but you can see a full Tutorial with a Video HERE.
The Tag was created with the Two Tag Die (Retired) and the Hero Arts Swirl Stamp in Pink Pirouette Ink. It was layered onto a Strawberry Slush Tag – just offset. The Happy Mother’s Day Stamp was embossed with Clear Embossing Powder.
The tag was finished off with a Smash Flower and a large Pearl and then spritzed with Vanilla Smooch Spritz Spray.
To stuff the goodie bags, I made Cialde. This is a dessert found in Tuscany, Italy. My Grandmother used to make it for us. You need “Irons” to form them – (they’re thinner than Pizzelles). I use a Krumkake Iron and it works perfectly! They take a while to make but they’re SO worth it!
I stuffed the bags, tied them up and added the tag!
