Vintage Birthday Card

I'm back to Vintage today!  Two of my closest friends are named Rose so I love putting roses on their cards!  The base card is Sahara Sand card stock.  That's not a color you usually see me use!  I am usually stuck in Crumb Cake most of the time!  The Pink Pirouette gives the card a more feminine touch and the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set provides the splatter marks.  There's lots of texture here – beginning with the Sizzix Large Paper Doily which is sponged with Sahara Sand Ink to make it look "dirty."  Best of Birthdays has a fabulous stamp that can be punched out using your Oval Punch and the "Birthday" looks great if you stamp it in a coordinating color and pop it up.

The Deco Framelits are great for layering so I ran them through the Big Shot using a Textured Impressions Folder and then crumpled them up and sponged them to "age" them.  I ran a Stampin' Sponge across the Victoria Crochet Trim.  It was looking a little TOO dirty, so I added a little Dazzling Diamonds Glitter to the greeting.  The Pearls offset the grunge and then there are the roses.  I just love them!  Paper Flowers are so fun to make and add to your cards!  In fact, I think it's my favorite part of Paper Crafting!  These are simple to do!  Just punch out a scalloped circle and spiral cut it with your scissors.  Then, put a Glue Dot on the edge and roll the spiral up, adhering with Glue Dots as necessary. When the flower is finished, secure the bottom with Glue Dots and then bend the "petals" down with your fingers.  Distress the edges with a Stampin' Sponge.  If you'd like, you can add glitter by running a 2 Way Glue Pen along the edge of the flower and then sprinkle Dazzling Diamonds Glitter on it.  They are then adhered to the card using Glue Dots.
