They say necessity is the mother of invention and today that’s true! I needed a Masculine Card for a friend who collects Vintage Cars. My new Getting There Stamp Set by Tim Holtz was a perfect choice! I needed to use the Smudge Stamping Technique for the CC3C Challenge (yesterday 🙁 – oh well!). I got carried away and smudge all of the stamping which gave it a really cool Vintage feel.
The Tag was created first. All of the stamping was done and smudged and then the Tag was inked with Distress Inks. The edges of the Tag were distressed with a Distressing Tool and then inked with Walnut Stain Distress Ink. Idea-ology Charms were added to finish the Tag. Supplies used were: Getting There and Ultimate Grunge Stamp Sets; Natural Cream and Black Trim; Idea-ology Word Band; Token and Mini Corner; Adornments Arrows; Remnant Rubs; Big Shot, Ticket Strip Die; Frayed Burlap, Fired Brick, Faded Jeans and Walnut Stain Distress Inks, Blending Tool, Distress Tool.
Next, the card front was created by smushing Distress Inks (Fired Brick, Faded Jeans and Frayed Burlap) onto a Craft Sheet.
Manilla Card Stock was spritzed with Water and dragged through the inks and then heat set.
The same color Distress Inks were added to the card stock with Blending Tools. The Spritz and Flick Technique was used and then the edges were distressed using a Distressing Tool and then inked with Black Soot Distress Ink.
A piece of Naturals Twine in Black and Cream was attached to the post card and adhered behind with Glue Dots. The Distressed Background piece was then adhered to a Crumb Cake Card.
The Tag was then adhered to the front of the card and a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Very Vanilla Card Stock was attached to the inside of the card.
The ticket was stamped with the Odds and Ends Ticket Stamp Set and Distress Inks. It is attached using an Idea-ology Paper Clip. The “be original” Small Talk Sticker was attached with the Mini Attacher.
