Use Your Stash – Thinking of You Card

I'm a hoarder! Yes – I said it. I compulsively collect all kinds of awesome Paper Crafting Supplies and then I just love them too much to use them. LOL Some things are worse than others – like flowers. I LOVE PAPER FLOWERS! I do make my own but when I find beauties like these, I find it very hard to part with them. Today's Card is another for the "Use Your Stash" Challenge so it's a license to use my favorites. It's also being entered into a few others as well. I like the jewels and flowers with the canvas. Cut a piece of Stampin' Up! Chocolate Chip Cardstock (SU#126979) to 5-1/2" x 8-1/2".
Score and fold at 4-1/4".
Attach a piece of 4" x 5-1/4" Crumb Cake Cardstock (SU#120953) to the card.
Cut a piece of Newsprint Designer Series Paper to 5-1/8" x 3-7/8". Adhere to the card front.
Cut a piece of Burlap and pull a few strings to fray the edges. Adhere to the card front.
Cut a piece of Add A Little Dazzle Dark Chocolate Craft Metal Sheet and run it through the Big Shot (SU#113439) in the Square Lattice Embossing Folder (SU#119976).
Tear a small piece of Chocolate Chip Cardstock and adhere to the underside of the Craft Metal Sheet with Glue Dots. Adhere to the Burlap with Stampin' Dimensionals (SU#104430).
Adhere a bling swirl (my description, not theirs) from Prima-Say It In Crystals Collection to the upper left and lower right corners of the DSP.
Adhere a Prima Flower from the Engraver Collection to the bottom left with Glue Dots and a Prima Butterfly from the same collection to the upper right with Glue Dots (SU#103683).
Stamp "Thinking of You" from the Sassy Salutations Stamp Set (wood #, clear #126707) in Chocolate Chip Ink (SU#126979) on Very Vanilla Cardstock (SU#101650) and emboss with Clear Embossing Powder (#109130) and a Heat Tool (SU#129053).
Punch out with the Decorative Label Punch (#120907).
Sponge the edges of the DSP with Chocolate Chip Ink and a Stampin' Sponge.
Finish with a Marker Spritzing Tool and a Chocolate Chip Marker (SU#131261) to "dirty" the corners of the Newsprint Designer Series Paper.
Adhere a piece of 4" x 5-1/4" Very Vanilla Cardstock (SU#101650) to the inside of the card and spritz the edges with the Marker Spritzer and a Chocolate Chip Stampin' Write Marker.

Ombre Technique With Metal Craft Sheets

Today’s Dazzling Diva Design Challenge was the Ombre Technique. (See inspiration photo below.) I wanted to use Add A Little Dazzle Craft Metal Sheets to do the technique. I also like to incorporate several challenges into my cards, if possible. This one qualified for several – Yay! I will be posting a video tutorial tomorrow. Subscribe to my YouTube Channel to be notified when it posts. 🙂

Cut a piece of Chocolate Chip Cardstock (#102128) at 5″ x 10″.
Score and fold at 5″.
Cut a piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock (#101650) at 4-7/8″ x 4-7/8″.
Cut a piece of Chocolate Chip Cardstock at 2″ x 4-7/8″.
Cut a piece of Dark Chocolate Craft Metal Sheet at 2″ x 4-7/8″.
Cut a piece of Precious Pearl Craft Metal Sheet at 2″ x 4-7/8″.
Emboss each of the three pieces of 2″ x 4-7/8″ using the Beautifully Baroque Embossing Folder (#130917) and the Big Shot (#113439).
Using Sticky Strip (#104294), attach the three pieces onto the Very Vanilla Cardstock, overlapping them.
Adhere a piece of Very Vanilla Seam Binding (#120999) to the front of the piece you just created – attaching it behind the cardstock using Glue Dots (#103683).
Tie a double bow using the Very Vanilla Seam Binding and attach to the card with Glue Dots.
If desired, “ruffle” the ribbon using Glue Dots.
Attach the entire card front to the Chocolate Chip Card using Stampin’ Dimensionals (#104430).
Stamp “A million & one Thanks” from the Million & One Stamp Set (wood #126375/clear #126377) in Chocolate Chip Ink (#126979) onto Very Vanilla Cardstock and emboss with Clear Embossing Powder (#109130) and a Heat Tool (#129053).
Cut out the greeting using the #4 Window Frames Framelit Die (#129021) (numbering from outside to inside).
Cut a piece of Chocolate Chip Cardstock using the #4 Window Frame Framelit Die. Cut that piece in half diagonally and reattach it behind the greeting to create a slight border.
Attach the greeting to the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Decorate the corners of the greeting with four of the smallest Pearl Basic Jewels (#119247).
Add one Large Pearl Basic Jewel (#125577) to the corner of the card.
Attach a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock to the inside of the card.

Happy Bubblegum Birthday

The colors in this week's challenge remind me of bubble gum! I wanted something simple but textured to coordinate with the Starburst Sayings Stamp Set so I used a couple of embossing folders and Pucker Me Pink Metal Craft Sheet to create a Happy Birthday Card.

The base card is Whisper White Cardstock cut at 4 1/4" x 11" and scored at 5 1/2".
The next layer is Coastal Cabana Cardstock 4" x 5 1/4" run through the Big Shot in the Striped Embossing Folder
Stamp 3 "swirlies" from the Starburst Sayings Stamp Set in Melon Mambo Ink onto a strip of Whisper White cardstock and adhere to the bottom of the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.
Apply 2 Way Glue to the white areas of the "swirlies" and apply Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.
Cut a circle from Pucker Me Pink Craft Metaland run through the Big Shot in the Polka Dot Embossing Folder.
Stamp "Oh Happy Day" from the Starburst Sayings Stamp Set in Melon Mambo Ink onto Whisper White Cardstock and cut out using the Starburst Framelit Dies.
Layer on top of each other and adhere to the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.

You, Me and Metal

I just got a huge shipment of goodies! The Occasions Mini Catalog goes Live on the 3rd and Sale-A-Bration is not far behind! I have been playing with all my inks, papers, stamps, and framelits and embossing folders! Lots to show you! I also reordered some Metal Sheets from Add A Little Dazzle and you know how much I love them! Today, for the Dazzling Diva's Design Challenge, I created a little 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" card as a little note to let my husband know how much I appreciated his help while I locked myself in my craft room all day! LOL

The base card is 4 1/4" x 8 1/2" Whisper White Cardstock scored and folded in half. The next layer is 3 3/4" x 3 3/4" Whisper White with a strip of Scarlet Red Metal from Add A Little Dazzle. The strip was passed through the Big Shot in the Needlepoint Border Embossing Folder so it appears stitched. The heart was cut from the same metal using the Hearts-A-Flutter Framelits and the Big Shot. It was adhered to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals. "You & Me" is from the new Perfect Pennants Stamp Set. It was stamped in Black Archival Ink and accented with a Rhinestone Basic Jewel. That layer is adhered to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. Stencil and Metal Keys

I have my Diva Hat on today – Dazzling Diva that is! Today's card is a loose interpretation of the Sketch Challenge Photo. I just couldn't bring myself to put the other colors on here. I tried, really I did but I think they'd be much better on something with a flower so I just left them off! I was in a stencil kinda mood so I grabbed this beauty from The Crafter's Workshop and layed it on top of Very Vanilla Cardstock and just sponged through using Crumb Cake Ink and a Stampin' Sponge. I love the way it turned out! I was hoping to get something that looked old and worn (like me LOL).

The base card is Cherry Cobbler Cardstock cut in half and then scored and folded in half. I used a Distress Tool to rough up the edges of each layer of this card. On top of the Very Vanilla layer, I put a piece of Cherry Cobbler Cardstock that was passed through the Big Shot in Stampin' Up!'s Beautifully Baroque Embossing Folder. The keys were cut from a Precious Pearl Metal Sheet from Add A Little Dazzle. They're adhered to the card front using Glue Dots.

The greeting is from the Trust God Stamp Set. It is stamped in Early Espresso Ink on Very Vanilla Cardstock and then embossed with Clear Embossing Powder and a Heat Tool. It was punched out using the Oval Punch. It is adhered to a piece of Cherry Cobbler Cardstock that was punched out using the Extra Large Oval Punch. They were both distressed using the Distress Tool and then sponged with Crumb Cake Ink. They're adhered to each other and the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals.

Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding was used to create a Double Bow. If you'd like to see how this one was created, there's a quick VIDEO HERE. It was wrapped around the Very Vanilla Cardstock and secured using Glue Dots.

The inside of the card was sponged using the same Stencil – but I only sponged lightly around the edges.

Card with Embossing and Metal

It's "Metal Wednesday" here at StampsAndScrapbooks.com! That means it's time for the Dazzling Divas Design Challenge! This is our 3rd already! Have you been playing along??? You should check it out! The themes are broad enough to combine with other challenges and it definitely gets your creative juices going! I love, love, LOVE embossing folders. The theme was "Embossing" so I felt that gave me free reign to go a little crazy! I used five different embossing folders on this one and the Perfect Peacock Metal Sheets along with Winter Frost Designer Series Paper, Silver Glimmer Paper and some Framelits.

One of the things I love about the metal is that you can emboss it as easily as you can emboss your cardstock. Just put it in the folder, run through the Big Shot and it's a done deal! This card is also a good example of how to use your scraps. The base card is Whisper White Cardstock – 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded in half. The next layer is 4" x 5 1/4" of Whisper White Cardstock that was passed through the Big Shot in the Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder. A Whisper White Organza Ribbon was wrapped around and secured in the back with Glue Dots. The center piece of Perfect Peacock Metal was embossed with the Beautifully Baroque Embossing Folder. The two side pieces were embossed using the Fancy Fan Embossing Folder. The snowflake is three layered pieces that were cut using the Festive Flurry Framelits. The bottom layer is Winter Frost Designer Series Paper that was adhered to cardstock and then cut with the Festive Flurry Framelits. The next layer is Silver Glimmer Paper and the top layer is Perfect Peacock Metal that was embossed using the Northern Flurry Embossing Folder.

The snowflake was centered on one of the snowflakes in the Northern Flurry Embossing Folder so the design would be centered. Each snowflake was adhered to the other using Stampin' Dimensionals and then the entire piece was attached to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals as well.

I photographed the card without a greeting but added one here so I could do another form of embossing I stamped the greeting from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set in Bermuda Bay Ink – which coordinates really well with the Perfect Peacock Metal Sheets – and the embossed it with clear embossing powder and a heat tool. I punched it out using the Modern Label Punch and cut the end off. It is adhered to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. The center of the piece has 3 stacked Stampin' Dimensionals to give it the curved shape. A Rhinestone Basic Jewel was used to finish off the edge. Metal Thankful Card

Wednesday also means that it's time for another Dazzling Diva Design Challenge! Today's challenge is to create a "Thanks" card with someone you're grateful for in mind. (See the Challenge Photo Below) I try to live a life of Gratitude every day. I am eternally grateful for my family. I am blessed to have a husband and children I actually LIKE as well as my extended family close by. My friends are a blessing I never take for granted because it took me a long time to have friends I can trust. I am grateful for good health for myself and those I love. Many of my close friends are having health challenges this year and I worry about them all the time. But – today – I need to add one of my Facebook Fans, Laura Hearold. I've never met her and she has never met me. Today I received the most beautiful card from her! It was not only physically beautiful (which it WAS) but it had the kindest words and her heartfelt support for me – someone she only knows through our mutual love of Paper Crafting. You may remember her beautiful card a while back – you can see it HERE. I don't know if you all realize how much you enrich my life. I love knowing you're all out there! When I'm creating, I think of you and whether you'll like the projects I'm creating. I've met many of you but most of you I only know "on line." I am so grateful for your friendships and the kindness you have shown me and each other. Have a blessed Thanksgiving surrounded by people you love! Now…on to the card!

You know I am a total Bling-a-potamus! I love shimmery and shiny! So, I combined two of my favorite things - Metal Sheets and Silver Shimmer Paper - to create this "Metal Thankful Card." The base card is 5 1/2" x 11" scored and folded in half. The Silver Gimmer Paper is 5 3/8" x 5 3/8". The next layer is Whisper White Cardstock that was passed through the Big Shot in the Stylish Stripes Embossing Folder. (I had to do some of it and then shimmy it up a little and pass it through again because the folder was not big enough to do the whole card at once.) A piece of Whisper White Organza Ribbon was wrapped around the front of the two layers and secured in the back using Glue Dots. The Scarlet Red Metal Sheet was cut using the Gift Bow Bigz Die and the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine. I then embossed each piece using the Beautifully Baroque Embossing Folder. I used a round marker barrel to round the metal instead of my Bone Folder. This will give you the rounding without crease marks. I used Sticky Strip to attach the bow pieces to each other and then I attached it to the front of the card with Sticky Strip.

The word "Thankful" was cut using the Expressions Thinlits and a Scarlet Red Metal Sheet. If you put a piece of wax paper between the die and the metal, you will be able to pop it out without any trouble! Be careful not to crease the metal when removing it from the die. It was then adhered to the front of the card using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. The "For You" from A Round Array Stamp Set was stamped onto Whisper White Cardstock using Real Red Ink and then it was embossed using Clear Embossing Powder and a Heat Tool. It was then punched out using a 7/8" Scalloped Circle Punch and layered onto a 1" Circle Punch of Silver Glimmer Paper using a Stampin' Dimensional. That was then adhered to a punch from the 1 1/4" Scallop Circle Punch and adhered to the card front using Glue Dots.

Don't forget to decorate the inside of your card! This 1/2" strip of Silver Glimmer Paper does the trick! I would probably make a little box for this card because an envelope wouldn't work. Best of Birthdays Metal Card

I have an exciting announcement! I have joined the Add A Little Dazzle Design Team!!! That makes me a Design Team Diva again! As you know, I am a Stamp Academy Design Team Diva and because I have fallen in love with AALD Metal Sheets, I will be contributing to the Dazzling Diva Design Challenges every Wednesday! You can check out the Challenge Blog HERE. This is the Challenge Photo we received for Dazzling Divas Design Challenge #1

I loved the soft color palette and the beautiful roses! My card is another example of Metal meets Embossing Folder. I love using Metal in many different ways but with Embossing Folders are my favorite! You can emboss it and leave it like I did with this card or you can emboss it and then sand the color off the metal for a completely different look like I did with THIS card. Either way, it is a very elegant addition to any of your Paper Crafting Projects! I used the Stylish Stripes Embossing Folder to mimic the lines on the pumpkin and made a few Rolled Roses out of Scallop Circles.

The base card is a half sheet of Crumb Cake Cardstock scored in half and folded. The next layer is a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Pink Pirouette Cardstock passed through the Big Shot in the Stylish Stripes Embossing Folder. The Pecious Pearl Metal Sheet was cut to 4 3/4" x 2 1/4" and was passed through the Big Shot in the Beautifully Baroque Embossing Folder. The greeting is from the Best of Birthdays Stamp Set. It was stamped in Crumb Cake Ink onto Very Vanilla Cardstock and then punched out using the Extra Large Oval Punch. It was then stamped again – this time using Pink Pirouette Ink onto Very Vanilla Cardstock and cut out using Paper Snips. The word "Birthday" was attached to the greeting using Stampin' Dimensionals. The entire oval was attached to a piece of Pink Pirouette Cardstock using Stampin' Dimensionals. The layer of Pink Pirouette Cardstock was cut using the Big Shot and Deco Labels Framelits and then passed through the Big Shot in the Pretty Print Embossing Folder. It was then adhered to the card using Stampin' Dimensionals. The edge of the oval and the label were embellished using Dazzling Details.

The little rolled roses were created using the 1 3/4" Scallop Circle Punch. Just punch out the scalloped circle and then spiral cut it using your Paper Snips. Roll it up and adhere it to itself using Glue Dots and put a Pearl Basic Jewel in the center. You can see a video HERE (it's an old one so don't judge LOL!). They were ahered to the project using Glue Dots. The cardstock used was Crumb Cake and Pink Pirouette. The edges of the roses were embellished using Dazzling Details.

I love this bow! Very Vanilla Seam Binding is so elegant! It's a great addition to your Card Making Projects! The double bow was first tied and then adhered to the Card Front using Glue Dots. The "tails" of the bow were banner cut using Craft Scissors and then placed to look as if they were ruffled using Glue Dots.

You’re Amazing Card

I am so blessed to have some amazing women in my life. It wasn't always that way but, as I've gotten older, I've been very fortunate to be surrounded by a great group of friends that I have profound respect for. So often, people just don't realize how amazing they really are! We can see it but, for some reason, they just can't. That's why I love this stamp. It just says it all – right there, simply – You're Amazing! One of the best parts of Paper Crafting and Card Making is the affect your finished cards have on the people you share them with. The base card is Crumb Cake Cardstock cut in half and scored and folded in half. I had another piece of metal on my desk (lucky me!) so I used it for the background layer of this card. This particular color is Brushed Bronze Metal and you can find it HERE. It was cut to 4" x 5 1/4" and passed through the Big Shot in the Beautifully Baroque Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and then adhered to the cardstock using Sticky Strip.

The next layer is Crumb Cake Cardstock and then a layer of Very Vanilla Cardstock that was passed through the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine using the Beautifully Baroque Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The Champagne Glimmer Paper was passed through the Big Shot using the Deco Labels Framelits. The sentiment is from the Lovely Romance Stamp Set. It was stamped onto Very Vanilla Cardstock using Early Espresso Ink and embossed with Clear Embossing Powder and a Heat Tool. It was then cut out using the Chalk Talk Framelits and the Big Shot.

The Brushed Bronze Metal was passed through the Big Shot using the Beautifully Baroque Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

A small piece of Champagne Glimmer Paper was punched out with a 1/2" Circle Punch and a Pearl Basic Jewel was layered on top. It was popped up using Stampin' Dimensionals.

The greeting was popped up using Stampin' Dimensionals. A Crumb Cake Seam Binding Ribbon was wrapped around the center piece and a bow was tied.
