This card uses one of my favorite techniques using Crackle Paint! With just a little bit of effort, you can get a truly spectacular result!
You just paint a piece of chipboard -in this case the snowflake- with Crackle Paint and allow it to dry completely. (Don't heat set it!) Then, just drop a couple of different color reinkers onto the top of it and they will seep in to create a beautiful result! The thicker the Crackle Paint, the bigger the cracks. For this snowflake, I used Bermuda Bay and Night of Navy Reinkers. Just a drop of each here and there. The snowflake behind the crackled one is Silver Glimmer Paper that has been cut using the Festive Flurry Framelits and the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine.
The base card is a half sheet of Whisper White Cardstock cut in half and then scored and folded in half. The next layer is a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Whisper White Cardstock with a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Vellum that was passed through the Big Shot using the Pretty Prints Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. A Whisper White Organza Ribbon was wrapped around both top layers and secured in the back using Glue Dots. A 1/8" Silver Ribbon was attached to the top of it and secured in the back using Glue Dots. The entire layer was then adhered to the card base.
Merry Christmas was stamped in Night of Navy Ink onto Whisper White cardstock and then cut out using the Bitty Banners Framelits. A Bermuda Bay piece of cardstock was cut using the same Bitty Banners Framelit. It was cut in half and reassembled behind the greeting and then adhered to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals. 3 Rhinestone Basic Jewels were used to accent the corner of the project.
