My THIS AND THAT JOURNAL is still a work in progress!  In fact, some of the pages have empty spaces for some of the new things that pop up that I know I'll want to throw in there!  This page is a compilation of random pictures that I love looking at.  Some are old and some are new – but all of them make me smile! 

I've loved all of the comments on what YOU would do with YOUR own THIS AND THAT JOURNAL! I will be posting some of them here tomorrow. BUT…I know you've all been axiously awaiting the announcement of who won the THIS AND THAT JOURNAL!  First, I would like to thank each and every one of you who left comments and especially to those of you who routinely visit and comment!  They mean so much to me!  Sometimes I wonder who is out there! Here's another layout from my "This and That" Journal.  This one is of my Book Club.  These women are some of the most intelligent and interesting people I know!  I love to spend time with them!  The left side of the page is our "Piano" Picture. Every year, we have our Holiday Dinner and we take a picture around the piano.  Our first year, we forgot to take a photo. 🙁  The small photo is from 2011 and the large one is 2012.  The page on the right is our most recent meeting.  The book was "Friendship Bread" and it was about a group of women who met through the Amish Friendship Bread Starter.  It was a quick read but especially fun for me because when my kids were young, I used to bake this "bread" every 10 days!!!!!  Unbelievable, I know! But, that's how the Starter works!   If you want to read more about Amish Friendship Bread, you can visit one of many websites. 

The Book Club Hostess usually serves food that relates to the book in some way. This book had a Tea Room and was centered around the Amish Friendship Bread Starter. There's a photo of all the things we made with it:  Amish Friendship Bread; Weight Watcher Friendship Bread; Apple Streusel Muffins; Pizza; Biscotti; and my personal favorite – Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting!

Again, this is another example of fun every day events that you can just use a page or two to record. Yes!  I DO love New York!  Born and Raised here!  This new Soho Subway Designer Series Paper is awesome! It's edgy and trendy and different than most of the papers from the last catalog and I like that!  It takes me out of my comfort zone and helps me create unique cards which, for me, works because I am SUCH a creature of habit! LOL!

The "Medallion" was created by stamping "You Make Me Smile" from the Notable Notions Stamp Set first in Crumb Cake Ink and then in Crisp Cantalope Ink.  The Crumb Cake piece was punched out using the 1-1/4" Circle Punch and then it was layered on a 1-3.8" punch out of Early Espresso Card Stock and then popped up onto the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals.  The Crisp Cantalope piece was cut out and popped up using pieces of Stampin' Dimensionals and then it was embellished using a Rhinestone Basic Jewel.

The Pinking edges were created using our INCREDIBLY AWESOME Magnetic Platform!  OMG!  This thing ROCKS!!!  No more worries about lining things up and having to trap them in with a post it note to prevent it from moving!  You just put your card stock onto your cutting plate, lay the edgelit/framelit on top and BAM!  It magnetically stays in place!  Woo hoo for NEW!!!!  I'll put up a video in a day or two so you can witness the awesomeness for yourself! 😀

The Chevron Ribbon is also new and a way cool addition to any project AND it comes in different colors!  Don't forget the new Alphabet Press Textured Impressions Folder!  Love it!  All supplies are Stampin' Up! New Catalog 2013-2014 and can be found in my ONLINE STORE.  Enjoy!

Here's another view of my This and That Journal.  I'll just call this "Sunday" because that's really what it was!  I love that! – Mostly because I NEVER would have scrapped a Sunday that wasn't a "special" Sunday! That's what this book is about!  Just "This and That" in your life!  The left page is a  Sunday we had at my Mom's where we were having a reunion with my neighbor growing up who was a good friend.  We used to walk to school together every day and since there was always something on the stove at my house, he would come over and eat!  He still talks about my mother's meatballs! LOL!  As is often the case, we lost touch for a couple of DECADES and reconnected on Facebook.  He brought his family over for a Reunion BBQ with my family.  The crazy thing is, I FORGOT TO TAKE PICTURES!  I remembered right after they left and I felt so bad about that 'cause we had such a great day!  So…I decided to take pictures of us instead and just record the event so I could remember it anyway!  

The right side of the page is a compilation of pictures I took with my new Fuji Instant Camera.  It's like the old Polaroids – the picture comes right out of the camera and develops in seconds (or maybe minutes haha).  These photos were taken with the camera and are about the size of a credit card.  I love how the Washi Tape makes it look messy!  I actually stuck the photos down with SNAIL adhesive and used the Washi Tape for decorative purposes.  Who would have EVER thought we'd be using TAPE to creation a "sloppy" illusion! LOL!  

As you can see, I am having a blast with my This and That Book!  I encourage you to try it!  I will compile and post all of the great ideas I get.  Send me yours for a chance to WIN a FREE This and That Journal of your own!

As promised, I am posting another "layout" from my This and That Journal.  This is my "family" page. The photos are copies of pictures I like of people I love.  It makes me happy to look at them – so they're in my This and That Book!

As you can see, the "pages" are made of Designer Series Paper and that's how the book comes to you! It's like someone created a beautiful scrapbook and all you have to do is use it!  Who doesn't love that?! And…I think BECAUSE of that, you can just "throw" things in there!  Leave a comment to let me know how YOU would use a This and That Journal!  I'll be choosing a Winner next week who will receive their very own This and That Journal FREE!

Notice the pocket on the page on the left.  You can put mementos or other photos in there. The word "family" was cut with a Cricut (sadly, not a Stampin' Up! product-LOL)

I used Epic Day Washi Tape and some of the matching Stickers on my pages and just hand wrote details with a Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker.
