Lovely As A Tree is my oldest current stamp set! It is also one of only a couple of wood stamp sets that I still own. I have had it for a loooooooooong time! I use it EVERY year, multiple times! (See it below.) As soon as I saw the challenge was "trees," I knew it was time for my Lovely As A Tree Stamp Set to make another appearance. I have told you many times that I LOVE the fall! I wanted a tree with fall leaves but I don't LOVE to color! LOL! This is such an easy Technique! You just stamp onto vellum and then color BEHIND it using sponge daubers and ink pads. I am pretty happy with the outcome. This is another simple card using my trusty Embossing Folders. If you have a few of them, you can conquer the world! (Okay maybe that's a slight exaggeration – but they're awesome!) The base card is Crumb Cake Cardstock. The next layer is Chocolate Chip from the Neutrals Core'dinations Cardstock. This is cooool stuff! You emboss it sand it and get this funky distressed layer! I ran it through the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine in the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and then sanded it with my Sanding Block. I adhered it to the base card and sponged the edges using Chocolate Chip Ink and a Stampin' Sponge.
The Tree from Lovely As A Tree was stamped in Early Espresso Ink onto Cardstock Vellum. I heat set it using my Heat Tool and then turned it over and colored it in using Sponge Daubers and Ink Pads – Pumpkin Pie Ink, Cherry Cobbler Ink, Garden Green Ink and Chocolate Chip Ink. I heat set that and adhered it to a piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock using Glue Dots hidden behind Early Espresso Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon and behind the tree. (Most glues show through on Vellum.) After tying the ribbon, I adhered it to the Woodgrain piece using Glue Dots.
The bottom of the card was decorated using Candy Dots in the same colors as the ink – Pumpkin Pie, Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green.
The inside of the card is decorated using a leaf from Lovely As A Tree stamped in Early Espresso Ink and colored in using Pumpkin Pie and Cherry Cobber Stampin' Write Markers. I outlined the little leaves with a Garden Green Stampin' Write Marker. A strip of Sweater Weather Designer Series Paper was adhered down the left side of the Very Vanilla piece of cardstock using a SNAIL Adhesive Refill. The matching envelope liner was created with a piece of Sweater Weather Designer Series Paper and the Envelope Liner Framelits. All Supplies are Stampin' Up! and can be purchased in my ONLINE STORE.
