Wedding Card Tux and Dress

I love Wedding Cards. I’m always on the lookout for new an interesting options. The Dress is a beautiful card I received from Yvette Sanchez, a very talented Stamper. The Tux was made from a pattern I purchased from Lynn Pratt.

I made a few variations of the dress card and altered the Tux pattern to use less of the black striped paper. (The front panels are added onto a folded black card.)

This is a Silver Card base with Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and then an embossed layer of White Shimmer Cardstock. The dress was die cut with another dress top embossed and added. A strip of Silver Cardstock was added at the waist and then a strip of Rhinestones were adhered across. The flowers were purchased and added on using Mini Glue Dots.

The greeting was embossed with Versamark Ink and Silver Embossing Powder and then added to a die cut banner which was attached to the card front using Mini Dimensionals.

I think this one is my favorite of all the dresses. The hanger is a little metal craft hanger from Tim Holtz Idea-Ology. The dress was die cut and attached to the hanger with Mini Glue Dots. The waist of the dress is Silver Cardstock punched with a Scalloped Oval Punch. A strip of Rhinestones were added to the waist. White Shimmer Cardstock was punched with a small Scalloped Circle Punch and attached to the dress with Mini Glue Dots. Ribbon Medallion Metallic Wedding Card

Today’s the last of the Wedding Card Series for this week. I had lots of fun making these and even did a scrapbook page for my next newsletter! (Click HERE if you want a copy.) I’m not sure if it’s just me, but I feel as if I am seeing metallics everywhere. I loved them in the 80’s and I love them now. They really do give your projects a little somethin’ somethin’. Try mixing metallic papers with their matching ribbons for a monochromatic look. You don’t need much to create a great project.

Metallic Wedding Card with Ribbon Medallion

Cut a piece of SU! Whisper White Heavy Weight Thick Card Stock to 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ and score at 4-1/4″. Crisp the edge with a Bone Folder to create a neat score line.
Cut a piece of Silver Foil Paper to 4″ x 5-1/4″ and emboss using the Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder and the Big Shot. Attach to the card front with Tear and Tape Adhesive.
Cut 3 pieces of Shimmery White Card Stock to 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ and emboss using 3 different embossing folders. (These are: Boho Chic, Stylish Stripes, and Happy Heart). Cut into smaller strips and attach 3 to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Save the rest for another project.
Create a Ribbon Medallion using Silver Satin Ribbon – See the VIDEO HERE. Attach to card front and embellish with a Vintage Faceted Button and a large Rhinestone Basic Jewel.
Emboss “Happy Wedding Day!” from the Big News Stamp Set using Versamark Ink, Silver Embossing Powder and a Heat Tool and cut out with the Bitty Banner Framelits. Trim the right edge and attach to the inside of the card with Glue Dots.

Simple and Sweet Wedding Card

Sometimes Less is More – especially when you are trying to create a bunch of cards at one time. This card is a simple and sweet wedding card that you could “mass produce” without much effort.

Simple and Sweet Wedding Card

Cut Basic Black Cardstock 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ – Score at 4-1/4″ – to create the card base.
4″ x 5-1/4″ Whisper White Cardstock.
Adhere a 2″ piece of Silver Foil Cardstock to the Whisper White Cardstock.
Adhere a 2-1/4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Silver Fancy Foil Vellum over the Whisper White Cardstock by applying Glue Dots under the hearts.
Adhere a piece of White Organza Ribbon across the front of the post card so that the satin strip covers the seam where the cardstocks meet. Adhere the post card to the Basic Black card base.
Tie a Double Bow (See “How To” VIDEO HERE) from Whisper White Satin Ribbon or the White Organza Ribbon and attach it to the front of the card.
Stamp a sentiment from the Big News Stamp Set in Versamark Ink onto White Shimmer Cardstock and emboss with Silver Embossing Powder and a Heat Tool.
Use a Chalk Talk Framelit to cut the words out.
Cut out another piece using the same framelit in Basic Black Cardstock. Cut it in half and reposition it behind the greeting. Adhere to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Adhere 3 Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the card front.
Adhere a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Whisper White Cardstock to the inside of the card.

Happily Ever After Wedding Card

I’m officially BACK! Wow – That’s the longest break I’ve EVER taken from blogging in all my years. I hope you’ve been enjoying your summer. It’s Wedding Season. That means lots of Wedding Cards to create! I love using Designer Series Paper when I have multiple cards to make. It makes Card Making effortless. The new Stampin’ Up! Catalog is chock full of beautiful patterned papers you can use as a background. The hot metallic trend also lends itself to the elegance of a Wedding Card.

Basic Black Card Stock cut 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ and scored at 4-1/4″.
Adhere a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Everyday Chic Designer Series Paper to a 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ piece of Silver Fancy Foil Paper.
Adhere a piece of White Satin Ribbon to the front of the post card and adhere behind with Glue Dots. Attach it to the card front with Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Tie a Double Bow with the White Satin Ribbon using the “How to Tie a Double Bow using your Fingers” Technique (See The Video HERE). Adhere it to the ribbon with Glue Dots.

Stamp “Happily Ever After” from the Big News Stamp Set in Versamark Ink onto White Shimmer Paper and emboss it with Silver Embossing Powder and a Heat Tool.
Use the Lots of Labels Framelits (the 3rd largest) to cut out the words “Happily Ever After.” Use the 2nd largest Framelit from the Lots of Labels Framelits to cut out another shape from Silver Foil Paper and cut it in half. Reassemble it behind the sentiment piece and attach it to the card front it using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Finish the corner of the card with a large Rhinestone or other embellishment.
