Masculine Sympathy Card with Metal Embossing

Today's Challenge was to use pearls on your project. I needed a masculine card so that was an issue for me. I used Adirondack Copper Mixative Alcohol Ink and a Q-tip to color the pearl. Problem solved! I really like the way this turned out! What do you think? If you'd like to play along with the Dazzling Divas Design Challenge, the photo is below.

Card is SU! Early Espresso Cardstock cut 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and scored and folded at 4 1/4".
The next layer is Dark Rich Chocolate Craft Metal from Add A Little Dazzle that was passed through the Big Shot in the Houndstooth Embossing Folder.
A Natural 7/16" Trim was adhered to the front of the metal piece and adhered to the back using Glue Dots. The whole piece was then attached to the Early Espresso Card using Stampin Dimensionals.
Two pieces of Brushed Bronze Craft Metal were cut to 2" x 3". One was embossed using the Argyle Embossing Folder. The other was embossed using the Woodgrain Embossing Folder.
A piece of Brushed Copper Craft Metal was embossed using the Chevron Embossing Folder.
A piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock was cut to 1 3/4" x 2 3/4". The Greeting from the "Love and Sympathy" Stamp Set was stamped in Versamark Ink and embossed in Early Espresso Embossing Powder.
They were attached to eachother using Sticky Strip and then adhered to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals.
A Brushed Bronze Button was adhered to the corner of the metal pieces using Glue Dots.
A Large Pearl Basic Jewel was colored using Adirondack Copper Mixative Alcohol Ink. It was then adhered to the center of the Button.
A 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock was adhered to the interior of the card.

All Supplies are Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted – except the Craft Metal which is from Add A Little Dazzle.

Distress Paint Marbling Tags

Some days you have good "Mojo" and creativity comes easily. Others, no matter what you do, you just can't muster any at all! Today was that day! I wanted to participate in CC3C and create something using Tim's Paint Marbling Technique from Compendium of Curiosities 3. I created two tags because I didn't like the first one so I tried again. I think I'll be trying again some time this week!

Simple Card with a Paper Rose

I love cards without sentiments – especially when you're not quite sure what you want to say. Sometimes I just want someone to know I'm thinking of them. A simple card is the perfect solution for those times. This card has lots of texture so it isn't plain but still simple. (I think so, anyway 😉 I hope you like it!

Cut a piece of Whisper White Cardstock (SU!) 5-1/2" x 7" and score and fold at 3-1/2".
Layer onto a piece of So Saffron Cardstock (SU!) that is 1/16" larger than your card.
Cut a piece of Whisper White Cardstock 3-1/4" x 4" and emboss with the French Script Embossing Folder (TH). Cut into two pieces – one measuring 3-1/4" x 2-1/4" – the other measuring 1-1/4" x 3-1/4".
Layer onto So Saffron mats that are 1/8" larger. (3-3/8" x 2-3/8" and 3-3/8" x 1-3/8").
Attach a piece of 3/8" Whisper White Tafeta Ribbon to the back of the smaller piece with Glue Dots. (Don't tie the excess ribbon yet.)
Adhere the larger mat to the top of the card and the smaller one just below it.

Cut two pieces of White Cardstock – one 4-1/2" x 2", the other 3-1/2" x 2".
Using Snail adhesive, attach them to eachother overlapping the smaller onto the larger.
Emboss them with the French Script Embossing Folder. Use a sponge dauber to apply So Saffron Ink to the raised portions of the embossing and to sponge the edges.
Adhere to the front of the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.
Wrap the White Ribbon across the inked pieces and adhere to itself using Glue Dots.
Where the ribbon overlaps itself, attach a White Paper Rose using Glue Dots. Use the ink that is left on the sponge dauber to ink the edges of the rose.
Spray the entire card with Glimmer Mist.
Attach 3 Rhinestones to the lower right corner of the card.

Anniversary Card with Bling

I love shimmer and bling! In fact, I can be quite a Bling-A-Potamus sometimes! It's an effort for me to not go overboard when it comes to glitter and Rhinestones – LOL! When I want to have lots of bling on my card, I try to keep the rest of the card as simple as possible. White on White can be so elegant. A simple Embossing Folder is all you need to give texture and interest to your card in a way that compliments your Rhinestones and Glitter.

Simple Card with a Hybrid Metal Flower

Welcome back!!!!! I've missed you! Typepad is the company that hosts this blog and they were under a Cyber Attack for the past 4 days which took down all of the blogs! Craziness! I couldn't post and you couldn't visit. So, Welcome back! I've been having some fun with flowers, as you know. (See this post) so I decided to try a hybrid flower using both metal and cardstock.

This flower uses a Lovely Lavendar Craft Metal Sheet from Add A Little Dazzle. Radiant Orchid is the Pantone Color of the Year so I wanted to use that color for the Dazzling Divas Design Challenge today. (Inpiration photo below) Because the color is so vibrant, I wanted a simple card so I decided to do white on white. I will try to get a Video up later today. 😀

Embossing Folder is Basket Weave by Darice
Ribbon is Whisper White Organza by Stampin' Up!
Stamp is embossed in Silver and is from the Perfect Pennants Stamp Set (SU!)
Silver Shimmer Paper was used for the corners
Metal is Lavendar by Add A Little Dazzle

Handmade Paper Flowers using Dies

Creating flowers from paper punches is easy and fun. (See yesterday's post HERE.) But…there are many dies that are specifically made to create paper flowers. Stampin' Up!'s Spiral die is one of them! This video shows how easy it is to use a die to create paper flowers. My YouTube Channel has lots of other Paper Crafting Videos – including the Fun Flowers Die below.

Handmade Paper Flowers Made Easy

While I was working on the Metal Flower Video yesterday (See it HERE), I came across a bunch of other flowers I've made. I thought you might find it helpful to have a visual for How to make those paper flowers as well. I love making my own Paper Flowers and incorporating them into my Card Making and Paper Crafting Projects. They're really easy to do! You can use different shaped Punches or Dies and all types of materials but I usually just use simple punches and cardstock. You can also incorporate different techniques into your flower making. I often use the Faux Suede Technique with my flowers - other times I spritz with water instead. Your punch size and the number of layers will all yield slightly different results. This post shows a few options with Videos so you can see how simple it is to create your own paper flowers. The flowers above were created using layers of cardstock that were punched using a Scallop Circle Punch. The Faux Suede Technique was used.

The flowers shown here were created using two different size Flower Punches - SU!'s Blossom Punch and Petite Petal Punch. I also incorporated the Faux Suede Technique.

This is a Shabby Chic Version created with only the Blossom Punch and Faux Suede Technique.

You can do these with any size Scallop Punch. The 7/8" Scallop Punch will produce smaller flowers - like THESE.

Spritzing the cardstock with water or shimmer mist will give you a "harder" flower and therefore a slightly different "feel". The Fancy Flower Punch will produce the flower below. (Original post HERE) Punch the cardstock out, spritz, scrunch it up and allow it to dry. Then, assemble the layers on top of each other.

The flowers below use the Pansy Punch and a slightly different technique – You can see the original post HERE.

The last flower for today is a "Hawaiian Blossom Flower" created by Chi Nguyen. I just fell in love with it! It's bright and fresh and "happy!" You can see the Video below the photo.

You can use lots of different materials to create your own Paper Flowers - cardstock, crepe paper, coffee filters, tissue paper – and even Craft Metal! Here's an example of a Craft Metal Flower. Create Flowers Using Craft Metal Sheets

Mother’s Day Card with Craft Metal

Mother's Day is right around the corner and who better to create a handmade card for! This Mother's Day Card uses Craft Metal Sheets from Add A Little Dazzle for both the lattice and the flowers. I created a quick VIDEO so you can see how the metal flowers were made. You can check back or Subscribe to my YouTube Channel to be notified when it posts. The inspiration photo for the Dazzling Divas Design Challenge is below.

The card is Whisper White Cardstock cut 4-1/4" x 8-1/2". Scored and folded at 4-1/4".
The next layer is Whisper White Cardstock cut 4-1/8" x 5-3/8".
The Pink Pirouette Cardstock is cut 4" x 5-1/4" and run through the Big Shot in the (SU!) Fancy Fan Embossing Folder. Adhere to the Whisper White layer.
Wrap a piece of White Satin Ribbon around the card layers and secure in the back with Glue Dots.
Tie a Double Bow with White Satin Ribbon (See HOW TO VIDEO HERE) and adhere to the card front with Glue Dots.
Cut a piece of Add A Little Dazzle White Craft Sheet in the SU! Bigz Lattice Die and adhere to the card front with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
Stamp "Happy Mother's Day" from Teeny Tiny Wishes in Versamark Ink onto Whisper White Cardstock and emboss using Silver Embossing Powder mixed with Irridescent Ice Embossing Powder.
Cut greeting using Bitty Banner Framelits and the Big Shot.
Run a 3/4" x 2-3/4" piece of Pink Pirouette Cardstock through the Big Shot in the Fancy Fan Embossing Folder and adhere the greeting to it. Use Paper Snips to cut a banner shape to border the greeting.
Adhere greeting to the center of the Lattice using Stampin' Dimensionals.

Create 4 flowers using Perfect Peacock Craft Metal (2) and Scarlet Red Craft Metal (2) by punching out 3 pieces for each flower using the Petite Petals die.
Cut one petal from one of the flowers and apply a Glue Dot to the back of one of the remaining petals. Overlap it onto the adjacent petal. Snip off the cone shape from the bottom and adhere to the next flower using a Glue Dot. Adhere that flower to a third flower using a Glue Dot. Attach a Rhinestone Basic Jewel to the center of each flower.
Use the Bird Builder Punch to punch out leaves from a Garland Green Craft Metal Sheet and adhere behind the flowers.
Arrange the flowers and leaves on the front of the card and adhere with Glue Dots.

The photo doesn't do justice to the richness of the metal! This is a great way to use your left-over scraps! You can, of course, use cardstock to create the flowers if you prefer. In fact, you can do most anything with Craft Metal that you can do with paper!

Sassy Paris Card

I was trying not to distress the heck out of this. It was difficult, but I managed it. LOL! This is a new stamp from Sweet & Sassy and I love it 'cause it is already collaged – so less work for me!

Cut a piece of Blush Blossom Cardstock 4-1/4" x 11". Score and fold at 5-1/2". Distress the edges a little.
Cut a piece of Modern Medley Designer Series Paper 4-1/8" x 5-3/8".
Cut a piece of Basic Black Cardstock 1" x 5-3/8" and scallop the edge with the Scallop Border Punch and adhere to the front of the DSP.
Cut a piece of Blush Blossom Cardstock 3/4" x 1-1/4" and center a piece of Very Vanilla Seam Binding over it. Secure the ribbon behind it with a Glue Dot and the adhere the whole piece to the Designer Series Paper with SNAIL Adhesive.
Stamp the largest stamp from "To Paris With Love" (Sweet & Sassy) in Versamark Ink onto Whisper White Cardstock and emboss with Silver Embossing Powder and a heat tool.
Sponge over the stamped image with Blush Blossom Ink and a Stampin' Sponge. Distress the edges slightly with a Distress Tool.
Attach to small pieces of Very Vanilla Seam Binding with banner edges to the underside of the White Cardstock.
Adhere to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Adhere Pearl Basic Jewels to the scallops on the front of the card.
Dot the "i" in "Paris" with a tiny Pearl.
Adhere a flower to the lower right corner of the stamped layer.
Cut a piece of Whisper White Cardstock to 4" x 5-1/4" and adhere to the inside of the card.
