Vintage Celebration Card

Each time I use these colors, I remember that Pink and Chocolate is my favorite color combination. I’m not much of a “Girly-Girl” but I love flowers on my cards – especially Vintage Shabby Chic Cards. I am combining challenges from some of my favorite sites. CC3C’s Challenge #11 refers to Tim Holtz‘s Compendium of Curiosities Book Page 52 – Effect Powders. (They even have a $50 prize from Inspiration Emporium!) SSS asks for my favorite technique and Distressing is definitely my favorite Technique. I made sure this one was very distressed and sponged to make it look older. Vintage Shabby Chic Celebration Card

The base card is SU! Chocolate Chip Cardstock cut 5-1/2″ x 8-1/4″ – Scored and folded at 4-1/4″
The next layer is Chocolate Chip Cardstock 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ with TH Kraft Cardstock 2-1/2″ x 4-1/8″ and Mulberry Paper 3-1/4″ x 4-1/8″. All edges were distressed using a Distressing Tool and sponged with SU! Chocolate Chip Ink and a Stampin’ Sponge.
The heart is SU! Blushing Bride Cardstock cut with a Heart Framelit and embossed with TH French Script Texture Fade Embossing Folder. The edges were distressed and sponged with Chocolate Chip Ink.
The Eiffel Tower from TH French Flight Stamp Set was stamped in Chocolate Chip Ink and embossed with Vintage Photo Distress Embossing Powder. It was cut using the matching Framelit and then sponged using Vintage Photo Distress Ink. The edges were sponged with Chocolate Chip Ink.
“Celebrate” from the Good Greetings Stamp Set was stamped onto SU! Very Vanilla Cardstock using Chocolate Chip Ink and embossed with Clear Embossing Powder and a Heat Tool. It was cut out using the SU! Bitty Banner Framelits and attached to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The 5/8″ Flower Trim was sponged with Blushing Bride Ink and adhered with Glue Dots.

Vintage Shabby Chic Celebration Card Flat

Chocolate Chip Seam Binding was attached to the card front. A Double Bow was tied using the “How to Tie a Double Bow using your Fingers Technique” (You can see a Video HERE.) and attached to the card front with Glue Dots. A piece of Flower Trim was attached to the center of the bow.
The Rusted Embellishment in the upper left corner was created using the Effect Powder Technique on Page 52 of Tim Holtz’s Compendium of Curiosities Volume III.
3 Pearl Basic Jewels were colored with a Chocolate Chip Alcohol Marker and attached to the card front.
All layers were attached using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A 4″ X 5-1/4″ piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock was sponged with Chocolate Chip Ink and attached to the inside of the card.

Vintage Feel Better Card

It’s always nice to receive a hand made card – especially when you’re a little under the weather. Today’s Masculine Get Well Card has a Vintage feel created with Distress Paint and Kraft Cardstock. I love the weathered look so I distressed the edges and sponged them with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.

Vintage Feel Better Card

Base card is SU! Baked Brown Sugar Cardstock cut 5-1/2″ x 7″ – Scored and filed at 3-1/2″.
Next layer is 5-3/8″ x 3-3/8″ TH Kraft Cardstock with Weathered Wood Distress Paint swiped over it.
The left side of the card is Kraft-Core Cardstock embossed with TH Texture Fade and sanded.
The center layer is another piece of Kraft Cardstock with Weathered Wood Distress Paint. It was adhered to the card front with Foam Tape.
All card stock edges were distressed with a Distressing Tool.
‘Thinking of You” from the SU! Sassy Salutations Stamp Set was stamped in Baked Brown Sugar Ink and embossed with Clear Embossing Powder and a Heat Tool.
Crinkle Ribbon was dyed with Weathered Wood Distress Stain and wrapped around the card.
Idea-ology Sprocket Gears were dabbed with Weathered Wood Distress Paint and were then attached to the ribbon using Glue Dots.

Vintage Monochromatic Card

Vintage is my favorite type of Card Making. Rarely can I do simple and Monochromatic. This Patterned Paper really did all the work for me! The delicious ribbon was a fun find from a trip to a far-away Stamp Store – yummmm!

The layers are attached directly to each other with the sentiment circle popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Vintage Monochromatic Card Flat

The base card is SU! Chocolate Chip Cardstock.
The layers were created using scraps of the Cartographer’s Collection of Patterned Paper.
I attached the paper to coordinating card stock and trimmed it so there was a small border.
The sentiment is from a Wendy Vecchi Stamp Set (Spent the weekend in her classes – OMG!) It was stamped in SU! Chocolate Chip Ink and embossed with Clear Embossing Powder and a Heat Tool.
The sentiment was cut with a Circle Collection Framelit. The Chocolate Chip circle was cut with a 2 1/2″ Circle Punch and then embossed with the Argyle Embossing Folder in the Big Shot.
The button has a piece of Crochet Trim tied and attached with a Glue Dot.
The top layer of the card was attached to the base card with Foam Tape.
