Merry, Merry Christmas from Our House to Yours!

I hope you’re all caught up on your gift shopping, baking, parties, menu planning, etc.! Sadly, I am not! Thank goodness for Amazon Prime – that’s all I’m sayin’! LOL My Christmas Cards finally went out this morning! Hey! It’s not Christmas yet, right? Isn’t the rule: As long as they’re postmarked by Christmas Eve you’re all good? Hmmmm – that’s what I tell myself anyway. 😉 I ran around all day today but I couldn’t let any more time go by before I entered my Monday Challenges! This card incorporates the themes of Music, Winter, and a Sketch Challenge. I hope you like it.
- The base card is SU! Basic Black Card Stock cut 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ – Scored and folded at 4-1/4″.
- The next layer is Silver Glimmer Paper 5-3/8″ x 4-1/8″
- The Patterned Paper had the music notes printed on it already and then I stenciled through TCW’s Antiquities Stencil with TH’s Weathered Wood Distress Ink with a Blending Tool.
- A 3″ x 3″ piece of Silver Glimmer Paper was used to mat a 2-7/8″ x 2-7/8″ piece of AALD Ocean Blue Craft Metal.
- A Silver Satin Ribbon was attached across the front of the card and secured behind the Glimmer Paper with Glue Dots.
- Silver Satin Ribbon was used to tie a Double Bow. The “How to Tie a Double Bow using your Fingers” Technique was used and the bow was attached to the card with Glue Dots.
- TH’s Paper Snowflakes Thinlits Dies were used to cut a Snowflake from Silver Glimmer Paper. It was attached using Stampin’ Dimensionals that were trimmed to fit.
- TH’s Holiday Words Thinlits Dies were used to cut out the word “Joy” from Ocean Blue Craft Metal. It was mounted onto a 1-1/2″ x 1-1/2″ piece of Silver Glimmer Paper using Ranger’s Glue & Seal.
- The Silver Glimmer Square was attached to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- A 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of SU!’s Whisper White Card Stock was attached to the inside of the card.

Happy Hanukkah! I just got my shipment of Wondrous White Craft Metal Sheets and I love them! I’ve been meaning to do a Hanukkah card and today’s color combination was perfect for it! Other than embossing the metal and embossing the image, there’s nothing to this card. Easy Peasy! All Supplies are Stampin’ Up! unless otherwise noted. Need something? It’s Wednesday and that means it’s time for the Dazzling Diva Challenge at Add A Little Dazzle! This will be the last challenge of the year! Can you believe it? You can enter your card HERE – it’s open until January 6th!
- Base Card is SU! Whisper White Cardstock 5-1/4″ x 10-1/2″ – Scored and folded at 5-1/4″.
- Silver Glimmer Paper is cut at 5-1/8″ x 5-1/8″
- Wondrous White Craft Metal is 4-3/4″ x 4-3/4″ run through the Big Shot in the Beautifully Baroque Embossing Folder. There will be a space at the edge – it’s covered by the ribbon. 😉
- Ocean Blue Craft Metal (ooooooooh!) is 3-3/4″ x 4″ and is embossed with the Beautifully Baroque Embossing Folder.
- An Embossing Buddy was passed over a 2-7/8″ x 3-3/8″ piece of Whisper White Card Stock. SU!’s Happy Hanukkah Stamp was stamped in Versamark Ink and embossed with Sterling Silver Embossing Powder. The little flames were colored in with a Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Write Marker.
- The Menora was mounted onto a 3″ x 3-1/2″ piece of Silver Glimmer Paper.
- A Whisper White Satin Ribbon was secured behind the project using Glue Dots. The Double Bow was added using Glue Dots as well. You can see a simple Technique showing How To Tie A Double Bow Using Your Fingers HERE.

Dazzling Diva Challenge #56 – Inspirational Photo Below
Isn’t it funny how your surroundings influence your thoughts, Card Making, and even what you dream at night! It’s cold and wintery in the Northeast so I seem to be on a blue/snow tangent! LOL. Today’s card uses a lot of bling so I tried to balance it by not adding any other colors. The card stock used for the doily die was one I created a loooong time ago. While your supplies are out and your desk is a mess, make extras. It’s so fun to just whip something up from your scraps!
- The base card is card stock weight Vellum that was embossed with SU!’s Lucky Stars Embossing Folder.
- The card is mounted onto a 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ piece of Neena White Card Stock.
- The Mini Star Punch from SU!’s Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack was used to punch out stars from Dazzling Diamond Glimmer Paper and adhered over the top half of the Vellum with Glue Dots.
- A Whisper White Organza Ribbon was wrapped around the bottom of the card and secured with Glue Dots.
- A 1/8″ Silver Ribbon was wrapped around the ribbon and secured with a Glue Dot. A Silver Bow was adhered to the card with another Glue Dot.
- The background scrap of card stock was die cut using SU!’s Darling Doily Thinlits Die and adhered to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- The word “Joy” from SU!’s Wondrous Wreath Framelits Dies was used to cut out Dazzling Diamond Glimmer Paper and then secured to the front of the Doily with Glue Dots.
- Rhinestone Jewels were used to accent the Doily and to finish off the bottom of the card.

I don’t know about you but I am WAY behind on my holiday everything! I have tons of shopping left to do and just ordered my photo cards this morning! (Don’t tell anyone I’m sending some Photo Cards!) Sheesh! Thanksgiving flew right by and now Christmas is sneaking up right behind! I love to bake for friends and mail it to their homes. It makes me happy to think of them opening the box and having a treat with their coffee! I’m a little more organized with that because it has to go in the mail right away so it can arrive fresh. The baking is not a problem for me but, of course, I angst over the card that accompanies the treats. This card was for a dear friend who knows his way around a craft room! That makes me try a little harder LOL – but also intimidates me. At the end of the day, I had to get the box in the mail so the card was sent as is. I hope they like it!
- The base card is SU! Basic Black Card Stock cut to 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ and scored at 4-1/4″.
- I smushed Distress Stains onto a Craft Sheet – Picket Fence, Stormy Sky, Peacock Feathers, Weathered Wood and Tumbled Glass – and then spritzed a little water on top.
- I dragged a piece of Manila Card Stock cut to 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ through the inks and heat set.
- I applied additional Distress Ink to the background with a Blending Tool and then used the Spritz and Flick Technique to create water droplets.
- A Distressing Tool was used on the edges of the post card and then Black Soot Distress Ink was applied with a Blending Tool.
- I stamped “Merry Christmas” from TH’s 2014 Handwritten Holidays 1 Stamp Set in Black Archival Ink onto the background repeatedly.
- I used a paint brush to splatter Picket Fence and Brushed Pewter Distress Stains onto the background as well.
- TH’s Sizzix Paper Snowflakes Thinlits Dies were used to cut out Card Stock Vellum. They were then painted with Clear Crackle Paint and allowed to dry. Once dry, I applied Brushed Pewter Stain to the tops of them and then adhered Gumdrops to the centers.
- The same color Distress Stains were used to dye Crinkle Ribbon which was then adhered to the front of the post card. I tied a Double Bow using the How To Tie a Double Bow Using Your Fingers Technique (VIDEO HERE) and attached it with Glue Dots.
- A “Merry Christmas” Tidings Token was attached to the bow using Jump Rings.
- The word “believe” was cut from Silver Foil Paper using TH’s Holiday Word Script Thinlits Dies and adhered to the ribbon.
- Little Mirrored Stars were adhered to the card front with Glue Dots.
- The post card was then adhered to the card front using Foam Tape.
Of course, the moment I mailed it, I realized I should have used a Stencil on the background for a little added interest! Don’t you hate when that happens! I hope you got an idea or two from this project. If you’d like exclusive samples, Click Here To Join My Mailing List.

It’s Wednesday – so you know that means it’s time for the Dazzling Diva Challenge! Yay METAL! I’m frantically trying to catch up on my Holiday Cards! I don’t make all of them but I need lots anyway. It always amazes me how a little pop of metal can really make your card! This is such a simple card – but the metal makes it look more elegant. I love that! Great bang for your buck! - The base card is SU! Whisper White Card Stock passed through the Big Shot with the Snowflake Card Thinlits Die...and…Voila…An actual (almost) completed card!
- I slipped the card into the Lucky Stars Embossing Folder to add more texture and interest.
- The snowflake is from the same Snowflake Card Thinlits Die Set – such great accessory pieces in there! I used it to cut a piece of Glamorous Gold Metal and adhered it on top of the snowflake.
- Peace on earth is from my boyfriend’s Holiday Framelit Die Set. Oh…you don’t know my boyfriend? Tim Holtz, of course! LOL! That is cut from Glamorous Gold Metal also!
- I finished the card by running a Wink Glitter Brush over the top of each of the stars.

It seems strange that the moment Thanksgiving ends, it feels like Christmas! It helps that there’s snow on the ground and Christmas Music playing on the radio. I’m not sure I’m quite ready for all that but I know it’s definitely time to start making Holiday Cards!
Designer Series Paper is a great way to create beautiful cards without having to work too hard. The base is just Whisper White Cardstock cut in half and then scored in half. All is Calm DSP was used along with Silver Glimmer Paper to create a very shiny Bright & Beautiful Christmas Card!
- Card Base – SU! Whisper White Cardstock 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, Scored and folded at 4-/4″
- Whisper White Cardstock 5-1/4″ x 4″ with two different patterns from the All Is Calm Designer Series Paper Pack cut 4″ x 2-3/8″ and adhered onto the card stock.
- A 4″ x 3″ piece of Silver Glimmer Paper was adhered on top of the patterned paper.
- The greeting from SU!’s Bright & Beautiful Christmas Stamp Set was stamped in Versamark Ink onto Whisper White Cardstock and embossed with a mixture of Silver Embossing Powder and Irridescent Ice Embossing Powder. (Use an Embossing Buddy to remove any static from your card stock before stamping.)
- Once the greeting was embossed, it was cut out using a Magnetic Platform (on sale NOW) along with a Deco Label Framelit (#3). The bottom edge of the design was trimmed off.
- The greeting was adhered to the Glimmer Paper with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- A piece of Silver Satin Ribbon was attached to the front of the card front and secured behind using Glue Dots. A double bow was tied using the “How to Tie a Bow using your Fingers” Technique (See the Video HERE) and attached to the card front with Glue Dots.
- TH’s Paper Snowflakes Alterations Dies were used to cut a snowflake from a scrap of All Is Calm DSP. It was attached to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- A metal Snowflake Embellishment was attached to the snowflake with a Glue Dot.
- The card front was adhered to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I love how you can see the light hitting the glimmer of the paper in the photo above! It makes for quite a shimmery Bright & Beautiful Christmas Card!
