Vintage Time Card

You know I love all things Vintage – but you may not know that I also have a fascination with Clocks. I'm not sure why but I love them-especially antique clocks. As a Paper Crafter, I often try to incorporate them into my Card Making. I have been all about the challenges lately because I love how they push me creatively so this card takes both Vintage and "Time" into it. I've taken lots of pictures so you can see exactly how the backgrounds were achieved – but they seem to be different every time anyway! LOL Also, I really appreciate all of your comments. Begin with a piece of Manila Cardstoc 4-1/8" x 5-3/8". Put it throught the Big Shot in the TH Clocks Texture Fade.

Apply various shades of Distress Ink directly to the cardstock using Blending Tools

Prepare a scrap of Manila Cardstock by apply Distress Stains and sponging through the TH Clock Layering Stencil with Distress Ink and a Blending Tool.

Embellish project as desired. This card has lots of Idea-ology accents (the Filmstrip, Chain, Corner, Brads, Chit Chat Words) and some others that were in my stash (Watch, Clock Faces, Watch Parts).

Video for Vintage Card with Faux Crocodile

When I made this card for my son, I never expected that so many of you would love it too! (You can see the original post HERE.) Thank you soooo much for all your kind words and comments. It truly warms my heart to think I've inspired you in some way. As promised, I've created a Video that shows the Faux Crocodile – Faux Leather (Faux whatever!) Technique I used. The Video also shows the rest of the card, if you care to see that as well. I hope you like it!

Gold Metal Birthday Card

Do you get into patterns with your Card Making? I know I do! I am in a Gold and Metal groove right now. LOL The Dazzling Divas Design Challenge today was gold so I used Gold Metal embossed with…you guessed it…the Beautifully Baroque Embossing Folder. I think it’s the most elegant folder in my collection – (that is current anyway). I use Very Vanilla Seam Binding a lot on my cards when I want a soft, elegant touch. (You can see a Video HERE for tying a double bow using your fingers.) There’s also a little Gold Metal Flower on here. I’ve included a photo below. ( It was created in the same way as THIS FLOWER and you can see a HOW TO VIDEO for that HERE.)

Cut a piece of (SU!) Very Vanilla Cardstock (#101650) to 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″. Score and fold at 4-1/4″.
Cut a piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock to 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″. Run it through the Big Shot (#113439) in the Beautifully Baroque Embossing Folder (#130917).
Spritz card with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist – Guilding Gold.
Cut a strip of Gold Craft Metal Sheet (Add A Little Dazzle) 1″ x 5-3/8″ and run it through the Big Shot in the Beautifully Baroque Embossing Folder. Adhere it to the front of the 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ piece of Vanilla Cardstock using Sticky Strip.
Put a piece of Very Vanilla Seam Binding (#120999) over the seam where the craft metal meets the cardstock and adhere the edges behind the cardstock piece using Glue Dots.
Tie a double bow (How To Video is HERE.) and adhere to the card front using Glue Dots. Use Glue Dots to position the “tails” of the ribbon as desired.
Stamp “Happy Birthday Wishes” from the Simply Stamp Set in Versamark Ink onto Very Vanilla Cardstock and emboss with Gold Embossing Powder and a Heat Tool.
Punch the sentiment out using the Decorative Label Punch (#120907).
Punch out a piece of Gold Craft Metal Sheet using the Decorative Label Punch and cut diagonally. Reassemble it behind the sentiment and adhere to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Embellish the sentiment piece with Pearl Basic Jewels.
Use the Petite Petals Punch (#133322) to punch out 3 flowers from a Gold Craft Metal Sheet. Gently curve the petals on two of the flowers. Cut one of the petals off of the third flower and pull the petal and secure behind on of the other petals. (See photo below.) Stack the flowers on top of each other and adhere to the front of the card. Embellish the flower with a Pearl Basic Jewel. (You can see a How To Video for a similar flower HERE.)

Don’t you just LOVE these vintage cameras?! I saw them at JBMercantile in the “Flea Market” section! I had to have them as photo props! You’ll be seeing them in the background of my photos but I wanted to put them front and center for a moment because they just make me happy!

Happy Birthday with Metal and Vellum

It's Monday – my most creative day of the week! I was playing with Craft Metal Sheets and Vellum this morning, combining a couple of challenges. I love the drama of black and gold together and I am a total Bling-A-Potamus so sequins just make me happy! I had to fight the urge not to go overboard with this card. 😉 One of the pitfalls of being a Card Maker is that everyone expects spectacular homemade cards! LOL As a Paper Crafter, that challenges me while I'm trying to create.

Basic Black Cardstock 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Gold Foil Sheet
Black Craft Metal Sheet (Add A Little Dazzle) – run through Big Shot in the Beautifully Baroque Embossing Folder
Adhere a strip of Gold Sequin Trim down the side of the Black Craft Metal. Secure in the back using Glue Dots.
Use the Banner Punch to punch out 5 banners from Gold Foil Designer Series Paper. Put a Glue Dot behind each heart and adhere to the metal.
Using Sticky Strip, adhere Metal to the Gold Foil Sheet at an angle. Trim off excess.
Adhere to the card front.
Using Circle Framelits – Cut a Gold Foil Circle and a Black Craft Metal Circle. Emboss the Black Craft Metal Circle using the Beautifully Baroque Embossing Folder. Adhere the Black Metal Circle to the Gold Foil Circle and adhere both to the card front.
Stamp "Happy Birthday" from the Blue Ribbon Stamp Set in Versamark Ink onto Basic Black Cardstock and emboss with Gold Embossing Powder and a Heat Tool.
Punch out with the 1 3/8" Circle Punch and adhere to the Metal Circle with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Cut a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock and adhere to the inside of the card.

Congratulations Card with Rainbow and Glitter

Today, I will have the sound of little children in my house! I love that – especially their giggles! My nephew and niece had a third baby and I get to meet him and see his other two little angels. So…I created the Congratulations Card (full details below) with a Rainbow and Glitter and then made "Best Big Sister" and "Best Big Brother" cards for his siblings. I'm also excited because I found two awesome Vintage Cameras (they're in the background) to use as props for my photos! See, you think I don't think about that "stuff" but I do! 😉 You'll be seeing more of them in upcoming photos. Hope you're having a great weekend!

These cards are for the Big Sister and Big Brother. Simple and easy!

Cut SU! Pacific Point Cardstock at 8 1/2" x 8 1/2". Score and fold at 4 1/4".
Cut Daffodil Delight Cardstock at 8 3/8" x 4"
Cut Real Red Cardstock at 8 1/8" x 3 7/8"
Cut Whisper White Cardstock at 8" x 3 3/4"
Stamp the paint brush stroke stamp from the Watercolor Wonder Stamp Set in Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Gumball Green, Pacific Point and Elegant Eggplant Inks onto the Whisper White Cardstock.
Stamp "Congratulations" from the Sassy Salutations Stamp Set in Pacific Point onto the same piece of cardstock.
Layer the cardstocks onto the card – White on top of Red on top of Yellow on top of Blue Card.
Attach a matching Pacific Point Designer Button (Brights Collection) onto the bottom of the card front using Glue Dots.
Tie a tiny bow using Real Red 1/8" Ribbon and attach to the top of the button with a Glue Dot.
Cut a piece of Whisper White Cardstock at 8" x 4" and layer on the inside of the card.
Using a 2-Way Glue Pen, swipe across the stamped paint brush images and cover with Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.
Embellish the "i" in Congratulations with a Rhinestone Basic Jewel.
The Big Sister/Big Brother Cards were created using the Blue Ribbon Stamp Set. The Inks used were Melon Mambo and Tempting Turquoise and then Real Red and Pacific Point.

Vintage Masculine Happy Birthday Card

I try to always approach life from a place of Gratitude. There are days when this is easier than others. Today, is one of those days. My son, Mike, turns 24 today! I am so blessed and grateful for him! Seeing him grow up to be the man I always hoped he would become is one of the greatest joys in my life. (My kids don't like when I "get mushy" so I will leave it at that.) ;-) As a Paper Crafter, it's fun to channel your feelings into your Card Making. I had so much fun creating this card for his birthday! Some find Masculine Cards to be more difficult but I love them! You can get very Vintage and Shabby Chic with them. There are lots of goodies on this one but my favorite part of it is the faux crocodile background. It didn't come out as I had originally planned, but I liked it even better! I'll work on a video for you guys so Subscribe to my You Tube Channel and you'll be notified when it posts. (Full details below) I hope you have the BEST day on Mike's Birthday! 😀

Cut a piece of SU! Chocolate Chip Cardstock to 5 1/2" x 11"
Score and fold at 5 1/2".
Put folded card back onto Score Board and score at 1/2". Seal the inside of the 1/2" fold flap.
Cut a piece of Chocolate Chip Cardstock to 4 7/8" x 4 7/8". Cover entire piece with Versamark or Embossing Ink. Sprinkle with Clear Embossing Powder. "Draw" a design using your Bone Folder.
Emboss with Heat Tool.
Ink SU! Natural Trim Ribbon with Chocolate Chip Ink and a Blending Tool and wrap around the 1/2" fold flap of the card and secure with Sticky Strip. Insert the edge into an Idea-Ology Buckle and fray the edges of the ribbon a little.
Cut 2 pieces of Add A Little Dazzle Matte Finish Craft Metal Sheet to 1" x 4 7/8".
Emboss both pieces using (TH) Airmail Texture Fade and the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine.
Adhere one piece to the bottom of the card front using Sticky Strip.
Distress the edges of the card and the Chocolate Chip Faux Crocodile layer using a Distress tool.
Attach a Tim Holtz Idea-Ology Compass Coin and Game Spinner to the Faux Crocodile piece with a brad.
Adhere the Faux Croc piece to the front of the card using Sticky Strip.
Cut two Gears using Tim Holtz's Gadget Gears Die (YAY! I finally found it! It's been missing for months!) and Chipboard. Ink them with Embossing Ink and cover with Vintage Photo Distress Embossing Powder. Heat Set. Rub to remove the release crystals. Ink tops using Rusty Hinge Distress Ink. Ink sides with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.
Cut the larger gear and adhere to the front of the card with Glue Dots. Adhere the smaller gear on top using Crystal Effects. Adhere a bronze Idea-Ology gear on top using Glue Dots.

Ink a Sticker from (TH) French Industrial Stickers with Chocolate Chip Ink and a Blending Tool. Attach to the front of the card.
Attach a piece of Film Strip to the front of the card using Glue Dots.
Stamp "Wish Big" from the (SU!) Bring on the Cake Stamp Set in Chocolate Chip Ink and "#I love you" from (TH) Hashtag Stamp Set onto a Journaling Tag. Distress the edges and ink with Chocolate Chip Ink and a Blending Tool.
Ink the goggles sticker and attach to the corner of the Journaling Tag.
Attach the Journaling Tag to the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.
Pull a piece of Ribbon through a Designer Brushed Bronze Button (SU!) and fray the edges. Attach to card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Attach a Bronze Corner (TH) to the top of the card.

Don't forget the inside of the card!

Adhere the 1" x 4 7/8" piece of embossed Craft Metal to the inside of the card using Sticky Strip.
Cut a 4 7/8" x 4 7/8" piece of SU! Very Vanilla Cardstock. Distress edges with a Distress Tool and ink with Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a Blending Tool. Attach to the inside of the card.
Attach a letter sticker.
Attach an Idea-Ology Gear to the front of the left-over piece of embossed Gadget Gear using a brad and a Paper Piercing Tool and attach to the bottom of the cardstock with Glue Dots.
Stamp "Happy Birthday" from the SU! Sassy Salutations Stamp Set in Chocolate Chip Ink onto the inside of the card.

Metal Flowers and Labels

It's "Metal Wednesday!" Today's Dazzling Diva Design Challenge Photo was "Frames" (See Below). I wasn't quite sure how to interpret it so I created a card with a frame instead of a traditional frame using the Designer Frames Embossing Folder and Craft Metal Sheets from Add A Little Dazzle in Polished Purple and Precious Pearl. Cut SU! Crumb Cake Cardstock (#120953) at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2".
Score and Fold at 4 1/4".
Cut Precious Pearl Metal Craft Sheet from Add A Little Dazzle at 4 1/8" x 5 3/8". Run through Big Shot (#113439) in the Beautifully Baroque Embossing Folder (#130917).
Attach a piece of Crumb Cake Seam Binding (#122322) to the front of the metal, securing in the back using Glue Dots (#103683).
Adhere the Metal Sheet to the card using Sticky Strip (#104294).
Tie a Double Bow (See Video HERE) and attach to the top left corner of the card using Glue Dots. Use Glue Dots to position the "tails."
Cut a piece of Polished Purple Metal Craft Sheet and run it through the Big Shot in the Designer Frames Embossing Folder (#123130). Use Paper Snips (#103579) to carefully cut out the frame. Adhere to the front of the card using Stampin' Dimensionals (#104430).
Cut a piece of Precious Pearl Metal Craft Sheet and run through the Big Shot in the Beautifully Baroque Embossing Folder (#130917). Attach to the center of the frame using Sticky Strip (#104294).
Stamp "Happy Birthday Wishes" from the Simply Sketched Stamp Set (Wood #129669, Clear #129672) in Early Espresso Ink (#126974) onto Very Vanilla Cardstock (#101650) and emboss with Clear Embossing Powder (#109130) and a Heat Tool (#129053).
Use the Large Oval Punch (#119855) to punch out the greeting. Attach to the center of the frame.
Using the attached pearls from the Pearl Basic Jewels (#119247), border the edge of the oval. (It will take almost two strips of pearls.)
To create the flowers, punch out four flowers using the Pansy Punch (#130698) and use a thin wooden skewer to roll the edges. Layer on top of each other using Glue Dots. Attach the flowers to the card using Glue Dots.
Finish the card front by putting a Large Pearl Basic Jewel (#125577) in the lower right corner.
Cut a piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock 4" x 5 1/4" and adhere to the inside of the card using SNAIL Adhesive (Dispenser #104332, Refill #104331).

Lucky St. Patrick’s Day!

I totally forgot about St. Patrick's Day when I posted my card this morning! I couldn't let the day go by without wishing all of you a Happy St. Patrick's Day!!! Especially to my Irish Friends and my Italian Friends too because St. Patrick was actually Italian! And, Luck O' the Irish to everyone else! Hope you're having a great day!

Gumball Green Cardstock Card 5 1/2" x 8 1/2"
Fold and score at 4 1/4"
Whisper White Cardstock cut at 5 1/8" x 4 1/8". Run through Big Shot in the Pretty Prints (Retired) Embossing Folder.
Cut 3 strips of Whisper White Cardstock 1 1/2" x 3 1/2". Run each through the Big Shot in a different Embossing Folder. Adhere to Card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Stamp the Four Leaf Cover/Lucky Stamp in Gumball Green Ink onto Whisper White Cardstock and emboss with Clear Embossing Powder and a Heat Tool.
Cut out the four leaf clover and then cut the word "Lucky!".
Mount "Lucky" onto a piece of Gumball Green Cardstock and attach to the front of the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.
Using Whisper White Organza Ribbon, create a Ribbon Medallion (How to Video HERE) and attach to the center of the 3 embossed pieces.
Adhere the four leaf clover to the center of the Ribbon Medallion with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Embellish the center of the four leaf clover with a Rhinestone Basic Jewel.
Embellish the top corner of the card with 3 Rhinestone Basic Jewels.
Cut a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Whisper White Cardstock and adhere to the inside of the card.
Spray the entire card front with Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz.

Love and Congratulations

As a Card Maker and Paper Crafter, I celebrate I everything! I love excuses to make things for my friends. One card I especially love to make is a Congratulations Card. It is rarely easy to accomplish anything worth having so when someone manages to grasp on, we should celebrate it. In this case, a friend got engaged! Now…no-one would ever accuse me of being sappy but…I love when people who were "meant to be" find each other. I started stamping 15 years ago. At the time, a company called "Acey Deucy" was pretty popular. They made the most beautiful, original, collage-y type stamps. This is one of them. I hope you like it.

Cut Basic Black Cardstock (#121045) 5 1/2" x 8 1/2".
Score and fold at 4 1/4".
Cut a piece of Basic Black Cardstock 5 3/8" x 4 1/8" and run through the Big Shot (#113439) in the Striped Embossing Folder (#123128).
Cut a piece of Gold Foil Sheet (#132622) 1 7/8" x 5 1/8". Run it through the Big Shot in the Delicate Designs Embossing Folder (#127023) and attach to the striped piece of Black Cardstock.
Attach a piece of Very Vanilla Seam Binding (#120999) across the center of the Gold Foil strip and attach to the back of the piece using Glue Dots (#103683).
Cut a piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock 2 7/8" x 4". Run your Embossing Buddy (#1030830 Anti-Static pouch over the cardstock.
Stamp the Acey Deucy Couple in Versamark Ink (#102283) onto the Vanilla Cardstock. Emboss with Gold Embossing Powder (#109129) and a Heat Tool (#129053).
Attach to a piece of 3" x 4 1/8" Gold Foil Sheet. Attach to the Black striped piece of cardstock with Stampin' Dimensionals (#104430).
Attach the Black striped piece of cardstock to the front of the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.
Tie a double-bow (Video HERE) using Very Vanilla Seam Binding and attach to the front of the card with Glue Dots. Use Glue dots to "ruffle" the bow tails as desired.
Attach a large pearl (#125577) to the front of the card.
Cut a piece of Gold Foil Sheet 5 1/4" x 4".
Attach a piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock 5 1/8" x 3 7/8". Adhere to the inside of the card.
Stamp "Congratulations" from the Itty Bitty Banner Greetings Stamp Set (Wood #132022, Clear #126257) in Versamark Ink onto a piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock. Emboss with Gold Embossing Powder and a Heat Tool.
Cut the greeting out using the Bitty Banners Framelit Dies (#129267) and the Big Shot.
Attach to the inside of the card.
